The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sarkisyan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Viittala.
Sarkisyan misses with a leg kick. Sarkisyan lands a jab to Viittala's midsection. Viittala takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Sarkisyan thows a body shot but no joy. Viittala avoids the body shot from Sarkisyan.
A low kick from Sarkisyan is predictable there and Viittala counters with a leg kick. Viittala throws a nice outside leg kick. Viittala is looking to chop away at Sarkisyan's legs.

and Viittala counters with a slapping leg kick. Sarkisyan throws a leg kick that is checked and Viittala counters with a three punch combo that has Sarkisyan backing up. Sarkisyan nods at Viittala to acknowledge the strikes. Viittala connects with an inside leg kick. Viittala uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sarkisyan. Viittala gets off balance looking for a body kick and Sarkisyan counters with a body kick that stops Viittala in his tracks momentarily. Sarkisyan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Viittala's calf. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Viittala avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Viittala gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sarkisyan. Sarkisyan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Viittala was well out of range. Poor timing from Sarkisyan. Sarkisyan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Viittala.
Sarkisyan misses with a hook. Sarkisyan throws a big shot that misses. Serge Sarkisyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Viittala counters with a straight right hand. Sarkisyan throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Viittala counters with a good, hard body kick but Sarkisyan shrugs it off. A head kick by Sarkisyan misses and Viittala counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sarkisyan thinking. No joy there for Sarkisyan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sarkisyan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Viittala. That one must have hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sarkisyan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Viittala throws out the jab. Sarkisyan thows a leg kick but Viittala checks it and Viittala counters with a solid body kick. Viittala's corner calls for a 1-2. Viittala obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Sarkisyan swings and misses with a shot to the body and Viittala counters with a low kick, right behind Sarkisyan 's knee. Sarkisyan is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Viittala rather than just go for the knockout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Viittala pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Sarkisyan misses with a leg kick and Viittala counters with a lovely shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rauno Viittala dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Viittala lands a big head kick that sends Sarkisyan tumbling to the mat! Viittala takes a step backwards and waves Sarkisyan back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Serge Sarkisyan has been cut. Sarkisyan drops his hands momentarily. Viittala doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Sarkisyan staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Sarkisyan doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Whoa gets back to half guard. Whoa wants to control but Willis is keeping busy.

Willis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Whoa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Whoa controlling the position well. Willis passes to side control. Willis controls the position. Willis working away. Willis staying calm. Willis in side control lands a decent elbow. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Willis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Whoa moves away. Willis looks to score with a jab to the body but Whoa is just out of range. Willis scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Ali shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weasel but Weasel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ali misses with a hook. Weasel ducked under it nicely. Ali uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Weasel. Weasel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ali connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Weasel momentarily.

Weasel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ali can do anything to dispel that myth. Weasel throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ali blocking the ground and pound attempt from Weasel. Weasel is keen to just control but Ali is a slippery customer. Ali avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Weasel. Ali is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Ali is not content to let Weasel control the position. Ali wants to get back to full guard.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Weasel moves nicely into side control. Weasel lands some shots froms side control. Ali avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Weasel. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ali taking punishment in the form of punches.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ali looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ali lands with a right hand. Ali connects with a body shot. Ali connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Ali lands with an uppercut that bounces Weasel off the cage and back into rage.
Wallace Weasel's cut is getting worse. Ali fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Weasel to the ground. Ali is now in Weasel's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ali throws a big right hand that misses. Ali wants to control from the top but Weasel keeps moving. Ali's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weasel keeping moving, preventing Ali from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Muhammad Ali wasn't active enough on the ground. Ali lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Ali swings away with a body shot that misses
and Weasel counters with a stiff right hand. Nice body kick there by Ali. Weasel takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Jeez, Wallace Weasel's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Weasel leaves his chin hanging out and Ali seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Weasel crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abdul Al Hassan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dennis Wise! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Al Hassan connects with a crisp jab. Al Hassan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wise has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A slow jab from Wise misses its intended target. Wise fails to land the takedown. Wise takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Wise avoids the body shot from Al Hassan.
Wise circles away from the clinch attempt and Wise counters with a nice double leg into side control. Al Hassan won't be happy with that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Al Hassan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wise asserts his dominance and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sloppy strikes there by Wise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Al Hassan is being controlled here. Wise cracks Al Hassan with an elbow. That is naaassty. Wise postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Wise with the ground and pound but Al Hassan regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Al Hassan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Wise. Wise stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Al Hassan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Al Hassan keeping moving, preventing Wise from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wise distracts Al Hassan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Wise stops Al Hassan from standing up. Wise is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Al Hassan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Al Hassan has escaped and now he's on top! Wise has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wise is looking for a triangle but Al Hassan pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wise controls Al Hassan momentarily but Al Hassan frees himself. Wise escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Al Hassan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Al Hassan postures up.
Wise looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Al Hassan passes into side control.
Al Hassan wants to stand but Wise is controlling his arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wise is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Al Hassan is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Al Hassan controlling the pace for now. Wise wants to control but Al Hassan is having none of it. Wise tries to reverse the position but Al Hassan maintains control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Abdul Al Hassan will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Wise thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Al Hassan's head.

Wise throws a strike but Al Hassan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wise is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Al Hassan prevents Wise from getting the reversal. Al Hassan looking to control but Wise is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That sent Wise stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wise avoids the body shot from Al Hassan.

Al Hassan lands a leg kick that knocks Wise off balance momentarily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Al Hassan takes a swing at Wise's ribcage but misses. Al Hassan is looking to wear down Wise with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Al Hassan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wise doesn't seem bothered though. Al Hassan lands a right hook to the body.

Al Hassan clinches. Al Hassan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wise up against the cage. Al Hassan is trying to maintain a safe position but Wise gets an underhook and turns Al Hassan into the cage. Wise goes for a takedown in the clinch but Al Hassan prevents it.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Al Hassan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Al Hassan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dennis Wise has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wise gets in close and instigates a clinch. A right handed body shot lands from Al Hassan.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Al Hassan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wise with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Al Hassan to score with a decent uppercut. Al Hassan throws a good cross that connects.
Al Hassan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wise was well out of range. Poor timing from Al Hassan. Abdul Al Hassan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Al Hassan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wise has time to react. Al Hassan digs a good body shot into Wise's ribs. Al Hassan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Al Hassan darts in and clinches Wise up against the cage. Al Hassan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Al Hassan. Al Hassan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wise wants to clinch but Al Hassan slips to the side and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Al Hassan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wise at a distance.
Al Hassan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Al Hassan jabbing away but nothing is landing. Al Hassan throws a series of strikes that have Wise backpedaling.
Abdul Al Hassan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. That kick from Al Hassan tenderised Wise's leg. Wise is trying to keep his angry face on. Al Hassan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wise stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wise keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Al Hassan. Al Hassan misses with the combination.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Al Hassan swings for the body but Wise moves out of range.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wise doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Al Hassan feints and then cracks Wise's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wise down.
And that's the end of the fight! Abdul Al Hassan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Al Hassan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Edward Tjahyadikarta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bob wants to sweep but no luck. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bob holds on and takes a little breather. Bob's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bob is on top in guard.
