The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Long misses and Shuai counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Long's guard now. Long looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Shuai stands and steps away. Long gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Long gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Shuai slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Shuai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Omi Shuai hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Shuai shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Long is trying to defend but Shuai finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shuai sitting and controlling from the half guard. Shuai stands up from half guard. Shuai bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shuai tries for a kimura but Long is defending well. Long prevents Shuai from moving into mount. Shuai staying calm. Shuai works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shuai stands up and we're back to a striking position. The fight moves into the clinch position. A left hand lands to the body for Shuai.

Shuai is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Long's half guard. Long has hold of Shuai's hands but Shuai slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Shuai decides to return to a standing position. Shuai shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Long manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Shuai should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shuai stands up from Long's guard - Shuai perhaps looking for a knockout. Muse Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shuai shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shuai was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shuai controlling the pace for now. Shuai landing shots from mount. Long takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Shuai throws a right and a left that Long avoids nicely. Long shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Shuai swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Shuai fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Shuai changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Long looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shuai controls the position from side control. Shuai wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Long, who protects the arm well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shuai lands a big shot there that rocks Long but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Long is in a horrible position here. Shuai smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Omi Shuai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Shuai looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Shuai has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Shuai with shots to the head and body - Long looks very uncomfortable down there. Muse Long has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shuai is standing up, even though he is in mount. Shuai closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Long quickly recovers to half guard. Shuai is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Long slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Long being controlled here, momentarily.
And that's the end of the fight! Omi Shuai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Shuai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marciano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but LePlaga manages to avoid it. Pedro LePlaga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marciano dodges the punch combination from LePlaga.
LePlaga shoots in but Marciano avoids the takedown attempt easily. LePlaga looks to land a left hand but Marciano moved out of range nicely. LePlaga gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marciano to score an easy takedown into full guard. Marciano postures up in LePlaga's guard and throws a big left but LePlaga blocks it. LePlaga wants to get back to his feet but Marciano is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Marciano wants to control from the top but LePlaga keeps moving. LePlaga wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Marciano manages to pass to side control. LePlaga is refusing to be controlled, as Marciano sits in half guard. Marciano prevents LePlaga from standing back up.
Marciano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with LePlaga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Marciano scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Marciano lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks LePlaga with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Marciano wants to take a breather but LePlaga is having none of it. Marciano thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed LePlaga's head. LePlaga manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's three minutes gone in the round. LePlaga drops his hands momentarily and Marciano takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. LePlaga throws a hook but Marciano avoids it easily. LePlaga throws a body punch but Marciano moves out of range. Marciano looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Marciano working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. LePlaga wants to stand and escape but Marciano is having none of it. Marciano is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. LePlaga throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Marciano has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Marciano on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. LePlaga is looking to wear down Marciano with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Marciano misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Marciano tries to control but LePlaga wriggling away. Marciano lands a heavy elbow. You get the feeling that LePlaga really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Marciano postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. LePlaga looks a forlorn figure.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ping cracks the inside of Tate's front leg. Ping closes the distance but Tate moves to the side and Tate counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Ping doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tate moves into the clinch. Tate jumps into guard, dragging Ping to the mat.
Ping sitting in guard, not really doing much. Tate has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ping has passed into side control.
Ping knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tate on the ground. Tate is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ping off and has taken his back! Tate is trying to stick to Ping's back but Ping is turning into Tate. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tate's guard. Tate throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Ping counters with a head kick. Good leg kick by Tate there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Po Ping will probably get the nod. That's time! Ping's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Tate jumps guard and drags Ping to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ping advances position into side control! Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Tate struggling a bit here.
