2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared White! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Lewis! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab by Lewis. Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.
White tries to clinch there but Lewis circles away.

White tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lewis throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Lewis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Good exchange - Lewis coming out on top. Lewis lunges at White with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by White's hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lewis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lewis throws a nice looking combination but White bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. White fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lewis to the ground. White is now in Lewis's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. White throwing strikes from guard but Lewis blocks nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis pushes White off and gets back to his feet.
Lewis clobbers White with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Lewis throws a series of punches but White moves out of range. Lewis swats away the attempt to clinch by White. White throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Lewis looks gassed! White closes the distance and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. A quick uppercut on the inside from White. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lewis as White tries to tie him up. White stops a takedown attempt from Lewis.
Lewis is trying to break the clinch but White is controlling him. The referee calls for White to work.
White goes for a takedown attempt but Lewis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lewis throws a right hand that White ducks under and follows up with a left that White also avoids with ease. Lewis misses the jab. White throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing White off to one side. Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.

Both fighters circling a little - White finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Nice sprawl there from Lewis as White shoots in. Lewis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. White moves into range and clinches up with Lewis. White unloads a knee to the mid-section. White keeps control of Lewis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. White has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lewis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lewis prevents White from breaking the clinch. White just leaning against Lewis, taking a breather. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. White is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lewis is controlling him well. Lewis content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Lewis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lewis throws a wild combination but nothing lands. White shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lewis pinned against the cage. Lewis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. White takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
White gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. White is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lewis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lewis throws a series of strikes that have White backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! White tries to move into range but Lewis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Nice uppercut lands for Lewis. That snapped White's head back.
White is rocked! White has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from White there as he acknowledges the shot. Oh White is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jared White is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. White showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lewis.
Lewis throws a hook but White avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. White is looking to clinch. White seems to have got his legs back now. White blocks a jab. Lewis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Lewis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lewis wants to stand up but White is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with White. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. White passes Lewis's right leg, so he's now in half guard. White is keen to just control but Lewis is a slippery customer. White is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

White prevents Lewis from getting back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lewis is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Jared White overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. White is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lewis tries to escape but White is in control. Lewis tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. White has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Lewis! Can he survive? No! He's out! White gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Maddox on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Ho misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ho looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Maddox trying to control the action but Ho is working from the bottom. Maddox moves nicely into side control. Ho struggling a bit here. Maddox works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Maddox is working Ho over with some ground and pound from side control.

Ooooh, that looks tight… Ho is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ho and Maddox has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hatton tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sobrawl drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hatton dives on top into guard. Hatton forces his way into half guard. Hatton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sobrawl doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hatton. Hatton tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sobrawl cranks the arm and Hatton screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hatton, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Malik tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bivar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bivar shoots in and bounces Malik off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bivar throws an elbow that misses. Malik uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bivar's guard. Nice move by Malik! Malik has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bivar is proving hard to escape from.

Melendez fails with the takedown and Whitte counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dana Whitte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien Melendez. Melendez with a lazy takedown attempt and Whitte counters with a left to the body. Melendez shoots in looking for a takedown but Whitte manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Melendez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Melendez slips a straight right by Whitte. Melendez tries for a takedown but Whitte circles away easily and Whitte counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Melendez thinking. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damien Melendez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Melendez slips under a jab from Whitte. Whitte lands a big uppercut and Melendez crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Melendez looks OK. Whitte waves Melendez back to his feet! Melendez is still on wobbly legs! Can Whitte finish him? Melendez with a poor takedown and Whitte counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Melendez badly! Whitte follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Melendez out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Whitte finished him against the cage.
