20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Lucas! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lucas scores with a jab to the body. Lucas misses with a wild body shot. Lucas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nicolosi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lucas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Mauricio Nicolosi has been cut. Nicolosi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lucas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nicolosi tries to clinch up and Lucas counters with a left to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nicolosi thows a left - swing and a miss! Lucas lands a leg kick that knocks Nicolosi off balance momentarily. Nicolosi scores with a three punch combo!
A looping hook to the body misses from Lucas. Nicolosi does a little dance to reset his feet. Nicolosi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lucas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A head kick misses from Lucas. Nicolosi misses with a straight right. Nicolosi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lucas lands with a straight right. Nicolosi didn't see that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lucas, right into the meat.
Nicolosi is breathing heavily. A lazy left from Lucas finds it's target. Lucas throws a low kick but Nicolosi moves out of range easily. Nicolosi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Sloppy strikes from Nicolosi. Those never looked like landing. Lucas throws a leg kick which misses Nicolosi's front leg but catches the back leg as Nicolosi tries to avoid it. Mauricio Nicolosi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lucas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lucas connects with a leg kick. Nicolosi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Nicolosi tries to move into range but Lucas moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Lucas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nicolosi. That did some damage! Lucas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lucas misses with a leg kick. Nicolosi tries to clinch there but Lucas circles away.
Lucas delivers a nice body kick. Lucas feints and then cracks Nicolosi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nicolosi down. Nicolosi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lucas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lucas scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Lucas is looking to slow Nicolosi down with leg kicks. Lucas lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Nicolosi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lucas throws a leg kick but Nicolosi moved away. Lucas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lucas with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nicolosi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lucas - the referee stops the clock and Nicolosi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lucas. Nicolosi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A nice inside leg kick there by Lucas. That's going to slow Nicolosi down. Lucas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nicolosi. Nicolosi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Lucas feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nicolosi's calf. Good shot there by Lucas.
Mauricio Nicolosi's cut is getting worse. Lucas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lucas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Horrible takedown by Nicolosi or perhaps it was just good defense by Lucas which made him look bad.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicolosi wants to clinch. Lucas with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lucas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Lucas cracks Nicolosi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Nicolosi defending well as Lucas loads up on a big left hand. Nicolosi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Lucas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lucas is looking to chop away at Nicolosi's legs. Lucas lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lucas throws a head kick that half lands.
Nicolosi is rocked!
Mauricio Nicolosi's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Lucas scores with a kick to the midsection. Lucas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Oh Nicolosi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Lucas misses with a low kick. Nicolosi seems to have got his legs back now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lucas drops Nicolosi with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nicolosi looks back up at him and smiles so Lucas waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mauricio Nicolosi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halike misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming. Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing. Gracie shoots in and bounces Halike off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Halike wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Halike is keeping the position for now. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Halike is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie forces his way into half guard. Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Halike sees it coming and defends easily. Gracie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Halike is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gracie keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Halike tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Halike is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Gracie trying to control the position but Halike is working away. Gracie cracks Halike with a big right hand but Halike just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Gracie tries to score with some ground and pound. Halike controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Halike is trying to improve his position. Gracie throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie swings around for an armbar but Halike sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gracie's guard. Halike is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control. Gracie is looking for a triangle but Halike pushes his legs off easily.

Halike stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Halike doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Halike manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Halike manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie wants to control from the top but Halike keeps moving. Gracie won't allow Halike to sweep him here. Halike keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie throwing strikes but missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heston Gracie dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Halike takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Halike is looking for a sweep. Halike regains half guard, as Gracie was trying to land strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie is keen to just control but Halike is a slippery customer. Gracie is thwarting Halike's attempts to control the position. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Halike is defending well.

Gracie content to control rather than advance. The fighters are battling for position here. Halike manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Halike gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gracie has his feet on Halike's thighs here. He's pushed Halike off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Halike screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fredericks lands a left and a right that send Frederman crashing to the mat, dazed. Fredericks thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Frederman is rocked! Fredericks lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Oh Frederman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fredericks lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Frederman backwards. Fredericks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fredericks cracks a nice hook into Frederman's ribs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fredericks lands a jab to Frederman's midsection. Frederman takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winner stuffs the takedown. Cross ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Winner moves away. Cross shoots in but no luck this time. Cross has his takedown stuffed and Winner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Tone Cross has been cut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tone Cross. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cross tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Winner throws a chopping leg kick but Cross manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Cross shoots for a double leg takedown but Winner sprawls well. He's pushed Cross's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cross closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Winner did well to prevent Cross getting side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Cross passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Winner! Cross has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Winner's face.
Winner wants to try and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross misses with a head shot. Cross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Winner's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Cross thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

It looks like Huey Winner has been cut. Cross throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Winner is squirming around, avoiding Cross's attempts to control the action. Cross sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Cross postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Winner looks a forlorn figure.
That has opened up Huey Winner's cut even more. Cross swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Winner is now in Cross's guard. A big mistake from Cross there, giving up the dominant position! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Winner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cross works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Winner stands up over Cross, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Winner throws a big elbow that misses. Cross is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Winner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Winner postures up and lands a big shot to Cross's brow. Winner is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Winner is in close to Cross's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Winner throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cross's body to avoid the submission. Cross has instead reached around Winner's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cross arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thurgood decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Montana looking for submissions off his back. Montana is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thurgood's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thurgood's back! Will Montana go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
