The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Briggs throws a sloppy head kick and Alcano moves out of range easily. Briggs looking to score a takedown here. Alcano is defending well but Briggs drives through and ends up in Alcano's guard. Alcano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Briggs passes Alcano's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Briggs stalling. Briggs lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Briggs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alcano moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Alcano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Briggs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Briggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alcano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alcano throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alcano accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alcano will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Alcano postures up in Briggs's guard and throws a big left but Briggs blocks it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alcano throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alcano is in close to Briggs's body, working some short punches and elbows. Briggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Briggs looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Alcano puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Briggs wants to control but Alcano is keeping busy.
Alcano wants to free his trapped foot but Briggs is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are battling for position here. Briggs manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alcano working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Alcano with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Briggs working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alcano. Alcano is looking to work some ground and pound but Briggs has wrist control. Alcano drops back, looking for a kneebar! Briggs looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Briggs looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Briggs! Briggs working the ground and pound. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Briggs landing a few strikes. Briggs lands a few punches from side control. Briggs landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Alcano takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alcano sneaks back into half guard. Briggs lands strikes from half guard.
Alcano is rocked! Alcano wants to improve his position but Briggs is controlling well.

A close round but Jonathan Briggs will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Alcano throws a sloppy head kick and Briggs moves out of range easily. Briggs thows a body shot but no joy. Alcano throws a shot to the body.

Alcano cracks the inside of Briggs's front leg. Alcano throws a low kick, looking for Briggs's leg but Briggs calmly moves out of range. Briggs takes a swing at Alcano's ribcage but misses. Briggs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Briggs scores with a couple of short elbows. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Briggs scoring with punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sloppy strikes there by Briggs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alcano is looking for a sweep. Alcano is being controlled here. Alcano has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alcano tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Briggs presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Briggs raining down hammerfists from mount. Briggs landing punches. Oh Alcano is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Briggs looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Alcano covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tony misses with a looping right. Coby Skrilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tony pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Skrilla stuns Tony with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Nice straight punches there by Skrilla. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Skrilla. An inside leg kick from Skrilla misses. Tony tries a head kick but it misses.

Tony takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. A decent looking body kick lands there for Skrilla. Skrilla lands with a nice body kick. Tony looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Skrilla ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Skrilla lands with a nice body kick. Skrilla with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tony gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Skrilla connects with a crisp jab. The crowd cheers as Skrilla lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tony doesn't seem phased though. Tony takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Skrilla tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Skrilla lands a big head kick that sends Tony tumbling to the mat! Skrilla takes a step backwards and waves Tony back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bryan's waist but Bryan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blick off to one side. Bryan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Blick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Blick is looking to clinch but Bryan is avoiding it.
Blick misses with a wild body shot. A cross from Bryan lands. Blick lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bryan circles away quickly and effectively. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Blick lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bryan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bryan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Blick fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bryan sprawls well initially but Blick persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bryan wants to control but Blick is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blick thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Blick passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bryan! Blick scoring with strikes but Bryan is staying in there.

Bryan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Blick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bryan with a nice cross. Bryan is looking to wear down Blick with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Blick tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bryan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Blick looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Horrible takedown by Bryan or perhaps it was just good defense by Blick which made him look bad. Blick slips a jab from Bryan. Bryan scores with a jab to the body. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kobe Bryan. I think Blick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Silva misses with a looping right. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bong's waist but Bong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. Silva wants to clinch up but Bong keeps it at a distance. Bong looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming. Bong feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Bong then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Bong throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Silva dives in and grabs Bong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bong pushes down on Silva's head and hops out. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Bong, looking for a takedown. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
