The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vincento pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vincento shoots in but Lange avoids the takedown attempt easily. Vincento with a lazy takedown attempt and Lange cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Vincento fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Artie Lange has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fat Vincento. Nice jab there from Lange. Lange throws a one two combo.
Lange bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vincento with a poor takedown and Lange scores with a counter punch that sends Vincento to the canvas! Lange smells blood - he's punishing Vincento with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Vincento has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da Silva is looking to clinch but Redz is avoiding it.

Redz tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Da Silva clinches. Da Silva holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Da Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Redz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Da Silva looks to land a combination. Redz sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Da Silva lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Redz shoots in but Da Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily. Redz tries to clinch there but Da Silva circles away.
Rafael Da Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Da Silva rushes Redz and presses him up against the cage. Da Silva manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Da Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Da Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Redz misses with a series of wild punches.
Redz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Da Silva - that will leave a mark!
Da Silva connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Redz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Da Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Redz somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franky Redz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Redz is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Da Silva avoids the head kick by Redz.
Da Silva connects with the punch. Horrible takedown by Redz or perhaps it was just good defense by Da Silva which made him look bad. Da Silva moves into range and clinches up with Redz.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Da Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A punch lands to the side of Redz 's head but he takes it in his stride. Redz is looking to clinch. Da Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Da Silva's jab looks to have found its range, popping Redz under the eye. Redz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Da Silva counters with a lead uppercut that lands right on the button! Redz goes down! Will Redz beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's up! No problem. Let's get back to the action!
Redz is rocked! Rafael Da Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Da Silva takes the fight into the clinch. Da Silva lands an elbow inside that Redz shrugs off. Da Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Redz. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Da Silva sends Redz crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Da Silva is motioning to the referee to let Redz up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Oh Redz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Da Silva connects with a nice cross there... Redz is looking wobbly and Da Silva recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Redz to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Da Silva jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Killer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Killer drives through and clinches with Two against the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harkimo misses with a kick to the body.
Keijo Harkimo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hogan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Harkimo. Hogan instigates a clinch. Hogan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hogan throwing strikes from guard but Harkimo blocks nicely. Harkimo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hogan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hogan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hogan looking to pass the guard. Harkimo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hogan defends it easily. Hogan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hogan with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan postures up in Harkimo's guard and throws a big left but Harkimo blocks it. Harkimo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hogan throws a big elbow that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harkimo can do anything to dispel that myth. Hogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Harkimo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Harkimo keeping full guard, as Hogan tries to pass. Harkimo looking for a guillotine here but Hogan defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hogan's corner is telling him to maintain position. Harkimo is looking for a triangle but Hogan pushes his legs off easily.
Hogan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hogan is looking to work some ground and pound but Harkimo has wrist control. Hogan throws an elbow that misses. Harkimo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hogan's guard. Nice move by Harkimo!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harkimo trying to control but Hogan is working from the bottom. Harkimo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hogan wants to hit a switch here but Harkimo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hogan there! Hogan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Harkimo prevents Hogan from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harkimo controlling from the full mount. Hogan wants to control but Harkimo is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A jab from Harkimo finds it's way through Hogan's defenses. A looping hook to the body misses from Harkimo. Hogan does a little dance to reset his feet. Harkimo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hogan. Hogan throws a nice inside leg kick. Harkimo tries to keep at a distance but Hogan has taken the fight into the clinch. Still in the clinch, Hogan scores with a nice short uppercut. Hogan wants to take the fight to the mat but Harkimo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Hogan digs a right hand into Harkimo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Harkimo's gas tank. This has been an exciting period of action! Hogan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Harkimo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Hogan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harkimo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hogan blocks an uppercut.

Hogan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harkimo can do to turn this around? Harkimo misses with a head kick.

Hogan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hogan ducks under a wild hook from Harkimo. Harkimo looks to clinch and Hogan counters with a big head kick but Harkimo shrugs it off. This has been an exciting period of action! Hogan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Harkimo on the side of the head. Hogan gets a double leg takedown into Harkimo's guard. Chad Hogan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hogan lands a couple of decent looking shots. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hogan stays in close to Harkimo's body and controls the position. Hogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Harkimo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harkimo throws a lazy right hand but Hogan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Harkimo digs a good body shot into Hogan's ribs. Harkimo gets a clinch. Hogan tries to score a body lock takedown but Harkimo shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Hogan misses with a punch to the body.
Hogan manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan scores with a nice hook to the head. Hogan throws a head punch that misses. Harkimo lands a body punch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hogan presses Harkimo against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Hogan is looking to take this one to the mat. Harkimo pushes Hogan back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Hogan misses with a body punch.
A short uppercut from Harkimo. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hogan wants the takedown. Harkimo is fighting it off but Hogan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Harkimo's guard against the cage. Harkimo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hogan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hogan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Harkimo is trying to keep Hogan in close.

Hogan pushes down on Harkimo's leg and manages to get into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harkimo wants to improve his position but Hogan is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chad Hogan. Well Hogan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
