9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Asteroids Bombereem! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gay on the wrong end of a nice jab. Bombereem takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Bombereem throws a hook but Gay blocks it. Bombereem's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gay under the eye. Gay lands a right hook to the body.
Gay slips a straight right by Bombereem. Gay cracks a nice hook into Bombereem's ribs. Bombereem tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gay shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bombereem's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gay wants to control from the top but Bombereem keeps moving. Gay missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gay is pushing down on Bombereem's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bombereem is fighting to maintain full guard but Gay has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bombereem ducks under a wild hook from Gay. Bombereem uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gay.
Bombereem jabbing away but nothing is landing. Gay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bombereem. Gay drops his hands momentarily and Bombereem takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bombereem misses with a straight left.

and Gay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gay jabbing away but nothing is landing. Gay changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bombereem looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bombereem is trying to control Gay's posture but Gay avoids it. Bombereem is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gay off and has taken his back! Bombereem is not going to allow Gay to sit and survive in this position. Bombereem really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bombereem wants to control but Gay manages to buck him off and is now in Bombereem's guard! Nice work there by Gay! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gay stopping the sweep attempt from Bombereem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bombereem swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gay passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gay working the ground and pound. Bombereem holds on to Gay's head and controls the position momentarily. Gay trying to control the position but Bombereem is working away.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bombereem looks like he's trying to stand up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gay trying to control the position from guard on top but Bombereem is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Balboa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rum but Rum pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rum connects with an inside leg kick. Rum looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Balboa tries to close the distance and clinch but Rum swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Balboa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rum defends it nicely. Balboa shoots for a double leg takedown but Rum sprawls well. He's pushed Balboa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rum scores with a sloppy right hand. Balboa should have avoided that one. Rum throws a shot to the body.

Rum cracks a nice hook into Balboa's ribs. Rocky Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rum listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Rum throws a shot to the body.

Balboa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rum finds it's way round the side to connect with Balboa's head. Rum tries a head kick but it misses.
Rum lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Rum has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Balboa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rum counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rum scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Balboa is rocked! The crowd cheers as Rum lands an impressive looking overhand right. Balboa doesn't seem phased though. Oh Balboa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rum connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Balboa's hands. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Balboa throws a solid leg kick but Rum takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Balboa. Rum cracks Balboa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. No luck with that takedown attempt from Balboa. Balboa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Red Rum seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rum ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Rum connects with a body shot that sends Balboa's belly button to the back. Balboa seems to have got his legs back now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nice uppercut there from Rum.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rum with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Good leg kick by Rum there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Balboa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rum cracks the inside of Balboa's front leg. Rum lands a jab to Balboa's midsection. Balboa tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Balboa takes one to the side of the head.
Rum clinches. This has been an exciting period of action! Rum scores with a shot to the side of Balboa's head. Rum lands a left hand.
Rum with a knee to the head.
Balboa's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Rum gets through Balboa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Rum's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rum cracks Balboa with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Balboa falls to his knees and Rum doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glenn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Skedol. Glenn tries to clinch but Skedol is having none of it. Glenn tries to clinch but Skedol moves out of range. Skedol lands a really nice looking cross but Glenn seems unphased.

Skedol slips under a jab. Skedol throws out a powerful jab. Skedol connects with a single shot there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Glenn looks to score with a jab to the body but Skedol is just out of range. Glenn throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Skedol counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Glenn pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Skedol back to the cage. Glenn follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Jakz Skedol has been cut. Glenn throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Glenn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Glenn thows a left - swing and a miss! Skedol scores with a punch to the head. Skedol slips a straight right by Glenn. Glenn fails in his attempt to clinch. Bobby Glenn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Skedol feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Glenn sprawling to the canvas! Glenn rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Skedol finish him?!
Glenn is rocked! Skedol fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Oh Glenn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Glenn tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skedol lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Glenn up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Skedol from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Glenn's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

A decent looking cross lands there for Guy. The Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guy fails with an attempt to clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie shoots for a takedown but Gein saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gracie lands a slapping body shot.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gracie landing strikes, looking to finish! Gracie with a couple of short strikes. Gein is trying desperately to improve position. Gein is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. Gein is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully. Gein working to try and regain half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gracie lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gein sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Gracie is thwarting Gein's attempts to control the position. Gein is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gracie is controlling the pace.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gracie lands a big elbow. Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gein tries to reverse the position but Gracie maintains control. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gein is looking to escape. Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gein looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gein regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gein slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Gracie stalling. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Gein is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aaron Gracie wasn't active enough on the ground. Gracie throws a body punch but Gein moves out of range. A left and a right from Gein both land. Nice combination. Gein throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. A telegraphed right hand from Gein misses the target. Gein throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and moves out of range. Gracie looks to land a left hand but Gein moved out of range nicely. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gein misses with a straight left. Gracie clobbers Gein with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Gein throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and Gein counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gracie blocks a low kick nicely. Gracie misses with a wild body shot. Gein blocks a jab. Gracie misses with a hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gein closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard. Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gracie has his hands on Gein's head, controlling the position. Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gein wants to control but Gracie is having none of it. Otis Gein has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gracie prevents Gein from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie wants to control the pace but Gein is squirming around nicely. Gein wants to hold on but Gracie pushes him away. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Gracie controlling from the full mount. Gracie cracks Gein with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gracie content just to control the position here. Gein is working to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tepes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tepes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mastain. Mastain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A head kick misses from Mastain. Mastain tries to clinch but Tepes moves away and Tepes counters with an inside leg kick. Mastain thows a left - swing and a miss! Tepes throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Tepes scores with a leg kick.
Mastain is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tepes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Tepes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mastain's calf. Tepes throws a shot to the body.
Tepes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mastain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tepes can pounce on him.
Tepes cracks Mastain with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Tepes has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mastain to stand back up! Tepes throws a powerful right kick. Mastain tried to block low but the kick was high! Mastain was taken right off of his feet! Tepes jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Vlad Tepes! Vlad Tepes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

and Yamamoto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Yamamoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Johnson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Fillipovitch is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
It looks like Mirko Fillipovitch has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fillipovitch walks straight into a right hand from Johnson - that's dropped him! Johnson jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Fillipovitch from any more punishment! Fillipovitch complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
