And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nickolai Zhukov!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Good leg kick by Diggler there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Zhukov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Dirk Diggler has been cut.
Diggler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Diggler's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Zhukov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Diggler scrambles back to his feet.
Zhukov throws a right and a left that Diggler avoids nicely.
Zhukov punishes Diggler's body with a nice straight punch.
Zhukov throws a sloppy body shot
and Diggler counters with a big head kick but Zhukov shrugs it off.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diggler takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Zhukov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Diggler counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for Diggler.

and Diggler makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Zhukov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Zhukov dips to his left and cracks Diggler with an uppercut!
Diggler moves out of range as Zhukov strikes.
Diggler connects with a solid leg kick.
Diggler misses the shot to the body.
Zhukov ducks right into an uppercut from Diggler.

It looks like Nickolai Zhukov has been cut.
Zhukov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Diggler was well out of range. Poor timing from Zhukov.

Diggler takes one on the button.
Zhukov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zhukov misses with a hook. Diggler ducked under it nicely.
Diggler feints and then cracks Zhukov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zhukov down.

Diggler stuns Zhukov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Diggler is looking to wear down Zhukov with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Diggler rushes Zhukov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Diggler can't find room to land a body shot as Zhukov controls the action.

Diggler jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A jab from Diggler finds it's way through Zhukov's defenses.

That has opened up Nickolai Zhukov's cut even more.
Zhukov misses with a lunging right hand
and Diggler counters with a nice leg kick.
Diggler dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diggler keeps Zhukov at a distance using the push kick.
Zhukov has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Diggler.
Good standup being displayed there by Diggler as he connects with a hook.
Diggler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zhukov moves away.
Nice uppercut lands for Diggler. That snapped Zhukov's head back.

Both fighters circling a little - Diggler finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

The cut above Nickolai Zhukov's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Diggler throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Diggler - that will leave a mark!
Diggler lands a nice looking body shot.
Zhukov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Diggler.
Diggler lands a lovely overhand right.
Zhukov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Nickolai Zhukov's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Diggler rushes Zhukov and presses him up against the cage.
Diggler lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Zhukov backwards.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Diggler tries a body shot but Zhukov blocks it.
Zhukov has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Diggler.
Diggler tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Zhukov's elbow.
Diggler taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dirk Diggler dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nickolai Zhukov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diggler feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Zhukovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Zhukov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diggler.
