Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Katana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dhe Orele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Katana comes to the cage accompanied by Baby got back. Orele is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ironman. James Katana had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dhe Orele! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Orele wants to clinch. Orele slips under a jab from Katana. Katana tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Good exchange - Katana coming out on top. Orele thows a left - swing and a miss! Orele tries to clinch but Katana is having none of it. Orele looks to land a left hand but Katana moved out of range nicely. Katana takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Orele is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Orele shoots in and drives through. Katana sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katana throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Orele. Katana uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Orele tries a head kick but it misses.
Orele moves away from the strike by Katana. Orele clinches with his opponent.
Orele tries for a takedown but Katana manages to get underhooks.
Orele drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Katana gets the underhooks and prevents it.
James Katana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dhe Orele. Katana is trying to break the clinch but Orele is controlling him. Katana wants to get back to striking at distance but Orele won't allow it.
Katana has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Orele is trying to pull guard but Katana turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Orele shoots in looking for a takedown but Katana manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Orele's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Orele looks to land a right hand but Katana moved out of range. Orele misses with a wild body shot. Orele connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Katana's hands. Orele fails in his attempt to clinch. Orele scores with a head kick. Katana tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Dhe Orele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Katana avoids the body shot from Orele.

Katana pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Orele throws a jab when Katana was well out of range.

Orele jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Katana walks away with a smile on his face. Orele gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Orele tries to clinch but Katana moves out of range. Katana throws a jab but it's blocked by Orele. Katana throws out a loose jab but Orele uses good head movement to avoid it. Katana loads up on a big right hand but Orele slips the punch. Orele gets in close and instigates a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Orele has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Katana uses from the top position. Katana stays in close to Orele's body and controls the position. Orele is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dhe Orele dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Orele keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Orele fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Katana manages to avoid it. Orele throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Katana's head. Orele has Katana up against the cage in a clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Orele wants a takedown but no success here.
Orele breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Orele shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Katana sprawls well. Katana wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Orele gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katana drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Orele steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Katana. Orele thows a left - swing and a miss! Katana jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Orele fails with the takedown. James Katana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dhe Orele. Katana circles away from the clinch attempt.
Orele gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orele slips under a jab from Katana. Katana throws a hook to the side of Orele's head but Orele sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Orele changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Katana tries to avoid it but Orele manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katana to the ground. Katana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Katana misses with an uppercut
and Orele counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Katana throws a shot from downtown. Orele moves away and avoids it. Orele moves in looking to clinch but Katana pushes him off. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Orele. Orele throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Katana's waist but Katana gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Orele off to one side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Orele is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Orele shoots in and drives through. Katana sprawls well. Orele tries to land a front kick but Katana steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Orele shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Katana counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Orele lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Dhe Orele seems to be getting the better of the standup. Orele fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Katana manages to avoid it. Orele lands a jab to the nose.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Orele shoots in but Katana avoids the takedown attempt easily. Katana throws a big shot that misses. Katana throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Orele to counter with a crisp jab. Katana misses with a looping left. Orele is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Orele misses with an uppercut. Katana saw that one coming. Orele misses with a takedown attempt - Katana sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Katana slips a straight right by Orele. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dhe Orele showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Orele is trying to control the action in half guard but Katana is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Orele is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Katana tries to kick Orele off but Orele keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Katana might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Orele content to control rather than advance. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Orele moves into full mount! Katana won't be happy about that!

Orele can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Katana is looking to escape. Orele is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Katana to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Katana shrugs it off. Katana is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Orele looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Orele wants to control the pace but Katana is squirming around nicely. Katana is looking to improve his position but Orele isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Orele controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Orele with good strikes from the mount here! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Orele is stalling here but it's allowed Katana to get half guard.

Katana gets full guard. Orele wants to control from the top but Katana keeps moving. Orele won't allow Katana to get back to his feet. Orele pushes down on Katana's leg and manages to get into half guard. Orele passes to full mount!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Okano. Matsui takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Okano connects with a high kick. Matsui throws a right hand that misses
and Okano counters with a low kick, right behind Matsui 's knee. Matsui throws a series of punches but Okano avoids them all with ease. A left lands for Okano. Okano gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Matsui tries to work over Okano's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Okano misses with a hook to the ribs.
Matsui lands with a short shot to the head. Okano tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Matsui avoids it. Matsui can't break the clinch.
Okano struggles to land a body shot inside as Matsui controls his hands.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Okano. Okano lands an elbow inside. Matsui has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Okano clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Matsui scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Okano is looking for a way out. Matsui missing with strikes from the back. Okano rolls, trying to escape but Matsui keeps control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Okano is trapped and Matsui is scoring with shots to the head and body. Matsui is working for a rear naked choke. Okano is not defending it well and Matsui has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Okano refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Okano's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hachiro Matsui! A very excited looking Hachiro Matsui made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Do counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Verson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Do gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Verson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Do rolls with it to try and escape but Verson cranks on the arm and Do is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rodrigo Verson! After winning the bout, Rodrigo Verson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Nice straight punches there by Glass. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Glass. Glass lands with a nice combination. Roger backs away looking to recover. Roger lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Glass circles away quickly and effectively. Glass connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Roger's hands. Roger gets tackled into the cage by Glass. Glass maintains the clinch. Glass lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Roger is rocked! Glass breaks from the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Glass connects with a single shot there. Oh Roger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Roger looks up at the clock. Bad move! Glass lands a right hand from hell, dropping Roger. Glass pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Brasky scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bearinstein doesn't seem bothered though. Paul Bearinstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brasky throws a good cross that connects.
Donk. Brasky catches Bearinstein right on the button with a cross. Brasky uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bearinstein has time to react. Brasky tries for a takedown but Bearinstein sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bearinstein ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brasky moves away. Bearinstein pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brasky is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bearinstein. Sloppy strikes from Brasky. Those never looked like landing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bearinstein misses with a looping left. Brasky scores with a shot to the body.

It looks like Bill Brasky has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brasky fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bearinstein looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Bearinstein throws a jab when Brasky was well out of range. Paul Bearinstein is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brasky moves out of range of the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bearinstein missing with a left hand there. Brasky was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bearinstein scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Bearinstein takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Brasky lands a jab to the head.
A shot to the liver by Brasky. Beautiful body shot. Bearinstein connects with a right hand. Brasky shakes it off. Brasky scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Bearinstein throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Bearinstein has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Brasky finds it's way round the side to connect with Bearinstein's head. Bearinstein ducks right into an uppercut from Brasky. Brasky takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Brasky shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Brasky misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bearinstein.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brasky will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bearinstein misses the jab. Brasky is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Brasky chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bearinstein can pounce on him.
A swing and a miss from Bearinstein. Brasky throws a push kick but Bearinstein slaps the foot to one side. Bearinstein throws a poor cross that misses
letting Brasky counter with a right hand. A swing and a miss from Bearinstein. Brasky paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Brasky cracks Bearinstein with a good jab. Whack! Bearinstein lands a heavy head kick that drops Brasky. The ref tackles Bearinstein to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Brasky was done.

Daley Bornstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Saballe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Daley Bornstein is winning the standup battle so far. Bornstein misses with a double jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jesse Kelly's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Grabowski is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kelly defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Grabowski just keeping the dominant position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nogg lands with a good body shot. Mifsud is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nogg tries to land a front kick but Mifsud steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Excellent takedown into side control there by Nogg. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Nogg misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Nogg wants to control but Mifsud is keeping him busy. Lavrov throws a right hand that Reynolds ducks under and follows up with a left that Reynolds also avoids with ease. Lavrov throws a jab but it's blocked by Reynolds. Reynolds with a lazy takedown attempt and Lavrov counters with a good low kick that Reynolds was not able to check. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lavrov gets to his feet - Reynolds follows without any prompting. Lavrov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Reynolds fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lavrov sprawls well initially but Reynolds persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Reynolds stalling away here and it's allowed Lavrov to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Reynolds loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Reynolds throwing strikes from guard but Lavrov blocks nicely.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reynolds accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lavrov keeping moving, preventing Reynolds from controlling successfully. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lavrov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reynolds with a flurry of punches that miss. Lavrov wants to sweep here but Reynolds controlling him for the moment. Reynolds seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

He's pushed Reynolds's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Reynolds dives in and scores a takedown into Lavrov's guard. Lavrov has his hands on Reynolds's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reynolds accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Reynolds in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mal Reynolds showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Lavrov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Reynolds makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Lavrov pushes Reynolds back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Lavrov scores with a nice hook to the head. Reynolds is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lavrov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Reynolds is still on wobbly legs! Can Lavrov finish him? A short right from Lavrov on the inside. A short body shot lands from Lavrov as the two fighters clinch.
Lavrov dips a shoulder and cracks Reynolds with a mighty uppercut! Reynolds falls back against the cage and Lavrov unloads with a barrage of strikes! Reynolds is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Lavrov screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
