Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Peters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Barnett! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters leaves Barnett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Peters scores with a punch to the head. Barnett instigates a clinch. Peters wants to break the clinch but can't.
Barnett turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barnett manages to end up in side control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Peters pushes Barnett away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Barnett gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Barnett just content to control the position. Barnett in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnett content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Barnett stands up and beckons Peters to his feet. Peters displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Barnett clinches up with Peters and pushes him back against the cage. Peters wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Peters is trying to break the clinch but Barnett has him pressed against the cage. Peters tries to break the clinch but Barnett is controlling the position. Stalling in the clinch from Barnett.
Barnett has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Peters clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good control from Barnett. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peters is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Barnett gets his way!
Peters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barnett on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnett is riding his opponent, not letting Peters buck him off. Barnett has his arm under Peters's chin here. Game over son! Barnett squeezes tightly and Peters is forced to tap out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lunder fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lunder fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lunder misses with a takedown attempt - McCarthy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Lunder. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lunder showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McCarthy.

Lunder fails with a takedown attempt from distance. McCarthy goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Lunder shoots in looking for a takedown. McCarthy tries to sprawl out of it but Lunder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCarthy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. McCarthy swinging wildly here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frazier throws a hook but Eveans blocks it. Eveans dodges the punch combination from Frazier.
Frazier fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Eveans looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Frazier scores with a nice right hand.
Eveans moves forwards but Frazier connects with a nice, crisp jab. Frazier lands a nice shot that snaps Eveans's head back.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A low kick from Frazier is predictable there and Eveans counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Frazier is lucky that one didn't land flush. Eveans throws a head kick but Frazier moves out of range.

Nwachukwu pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Zimmer tumbling to the mat - Nwachukwu dives into Zimmer's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zimmer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nwachukwu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nwachukwu passes Zimmer's left leg - he's now in half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nwachukwu is looking for a kimura but Zimmer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nwachukwu to get the leverage. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Beater makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Guillard misses with the head strike.

A right-left combo lands from Beater. Meat Beater is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Beater swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Meat Beater comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Beater has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tracy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Shields with a poor takedown and Tracy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Tracy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Tracy lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shields's sensitive parts. Shields misses with a takedown attempt - Tracy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Shields gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tracy scores with a leg kick.
Tracy connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shields takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Tracy rushes Shields with punches - Shields moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Shields goes down! Tracy follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koch connects with a leg kick. Head looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Koch lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Head throws out a leg kick but Koch moves out of range and Head only half commits. Koch connects with a looping right hand.
Koch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Head swats him away and circles back towards the center. Koch plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Koch blocks a head kick by Head.
Head throws a half hearted mid kick. A combination from Koch does no damage. Head looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Head looks for the body kick but Koch saw that one coming. Eric Koch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koch looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. That kick from Head tenderised Koch's leg. Koch is trying to keep his angry face on. Koch jabbing away but nothing is landing. Donk. Koch catches Head right on the button with a cross. Koch stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Head. This has been an exciting period of action! Koch is looking to land body kicks. Koch thows a leg kick but Head checks it and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Koch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Head can pounce on him.
Koch misses with a wild body shot. Head fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Koch tries to clinch there but Head circles away.
Koch takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Koch scoring well with a low kick there.
Good work by Head as he checks the leg kick. Koch is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Koch darts in trying to clinch and Head counters with a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koch lands a head shot. Koch has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Head. Head misses with a wild body shot. Head thumps Koch with a low kick. Head connects with a solid leg kick. Koch moves into the clinch. Head tries a body shot but Koch blocks it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Head tries to land knees in the clinch but Koch avoids the damage to the body. Koch comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Head lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Head working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Head missing with knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boot Head dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Head throws a chopping leg kick but Koch manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Koch checks a low kick from Head. Koch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Koch tries to work over Head's front leg with a kick but Head checks it. Koch throws a sloppy head kick and Head moves out of range easily. The fighters circle, before Head throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Koch's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Head lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Complex lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Franklin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Complex avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Complex pushes Franklin back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Complex is working Franklin over against the cage. Franklin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Napoleon Complex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Franklin. The referee is keeping an eye on Complex - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Franklin is thwarting Complex's attempts to control the position. Complex wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Complex is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Franklin pulls his head out easily. Complex trying to control from the bottom.

Franklin is breathing heavily. Complex dips to his left and cracks Franklin with an uppercut! Complex changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Napoleon Complex is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Franklin has his takedown stuffed and Complex scores with a counter punch that sends Franklin to the canvas! Complex smells blood - he's punishing Franklin with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Franklin has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
