Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 16 - 2, fighting out of New York, Chip Freedom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Master Chuin! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freedom lands a nice shot to the body.
Freedom throws a low kick but Chuin moves out of range easily. Chuin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Chuin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Chuin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Chuin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Freedom to the mat! Freedom manages to get full guard. Chuin won't allow Freedom to sweep him here. Freedom keeping full guard, as Chuin tries to pass. Chuin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Chuin wants to control from the top but Freedom keeps moving. Chuin stands and throws Freedom's legs to the side, diving into side control. Freedom manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Freedom seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Chuin controlling the position well. Chuin tries to roll over but Freedom keeps him under control. Freedom trying to pass the guard but Chuin defending well. Freedom is trying to control. Chuin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Chuin trying to control here.
Chuin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Chuin wants to improve his position but Freedom is controlling well.

Freedom stands up over Chuin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Chuin keeping moving, preventing Freedom from controlling successfully. Chuin looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chuin is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Freedom trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freedom striking off his back but it's not causing Chuin any problems. Freedom keeping moving, preventing Chuin from controlling successfully. Chuin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Freedom kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Chuin passes Freedom's left leg - he's now in half guard. Freedom wants to get back to full guard but Chuin has passed into side control. Chuin is trying to get an arm triangle but Freedom is defending well. Freedom manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Chuin is trying to work for a kimura but Freedom is defending well.
Chuin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Freedom doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chuin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chuin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Freedom! Chuin moves to the back. Chuin is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Freedom is defending well though. Chuin let's go of the attempt for now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chuin is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chuin is looking to control Freedom but Freedom is wriggling around and keeping busy. Freedom is trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freedom throws a leg kick that is checked and Chuin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Freedom swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Freedom lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chuin circles away quickly and effectively. Freedom gets caught napping as Chuin dives in and scores a takedown. Freedom manages to retain guard. Chuin wants to pass the guard but Freedom is keeping the position. Chuin trying to control but Freedom is working from the bottom. Chuin being controlled here momentarily. Freedom keeping moving, preventing Chuin from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Chuin shoots for a double leg takedown but Freedom sprawls well. He's pushed Chuin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chuin shoots in looking for a takedown. Freedom tries to sprawl out of it but Chuin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Freedom manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Freedom takes a swing at Chuin's ribcage but misses. Freedom finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Chuin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Freedom sprawls well initially but Chuin persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chuin is working for a kimura but Freedom is defending it quite comfortably.
Chuin wants to free his trapped foot but Freedom is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chuin prevents Freedom from improving his position. Chuin passes the guard and advances to mount! Chuin avoids the attempt from Freedom to control. Chuin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Freedom has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Freedom is squirming around, avoiding Chuin's attempts to control the action. Freedom is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Freedom wants to hold on but Chuin pushes him away. Chuin has hold of Freedom's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Freedom manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Chuin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Freedom is looking to escape. Freedom is wriggling around trying to escape.
Freedom is working hard here to advance position. Master Chuin has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chuin trying to control but Freedom is having none of it. Chuin seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Freedom is holding on tight.
Chuin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Freedom is surviving well by controlling Chuin's body position as best he can. Freedom can't escape the position.
Chuin content just to control the position here. Chuin trying to control but Freedom is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chuin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Freedom has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Freedom! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Master Chuin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Chuin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Freedom circles away. Chip Freedom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Master Chuin. Freedom moves into the clinch. Chuin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Freedom to keep the fight standing. Stalling in the clinch from Freedom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Freedom throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Chuin blocks it with crossed arms. Freedom is trying to maintain a safe position but Chuin gets an underhook and turns Freedom into the cage. Freedom throws an elbow but it misses.
Freedom manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Chip Freedom. Chuin shoots in looking for a takedown but Freedom manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chuin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Freedom swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chuin counters with a flying knee. Nice. Chuin fails with the takedown. Freedom has taken the fight to the clinch.
Freedom tries to stall but Chuin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Chuin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chuin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Freedom trying to control the position from guard on top but Chuin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chip Freedom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chuin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Freedom is looking to improve his position.
Chuin trying to pass the guard but Freedom defending well. Freedom is trying to maintain the position but Chuin is very close to passing his half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chuin wants to free his trapped foot but Freedom is holding on for dear life with his legs. Chuin is working for a kimura but Freedom is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chuin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Freedom defends it well. Chuin trying to control from half guard but Freedom is working away. Freedom is positioning himself well to prevent Chuin advancing to mount. Freedom is looking to control Chuin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Freedom avoid being mounted? Freedom is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Chuin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Freedom does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We're going to have a standup here because Chip Freedom wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Chuin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Freedom but Freedom pushes him off and we're back to square one. Chuin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Freedom missing with a left hand there. Chuin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Freedom misses with a wild body shot. Chuin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Chuin seems to be looking for submissions.
Master Chuin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chuin is looking for a kimura here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chip Freedom. I think Chuin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Leclair will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

The fighters circle, before Leclair throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Salsa's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Leclair lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zinfandel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Zinfandel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Harper manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Harper is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Harper takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Harper has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Harper and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Harper keeps the fight on the outside. Harper tries to clinch up and Zinfandel counters with a shoot takedown. Harper fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Zinfandel wants to control from the top but Harper keeps moving. Zinfandel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Zinfandel postures up in Harper's guard and throws a big left but Harper blocks it. Zinfandel trying to control the position from guard on top but Harper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zinfandel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Harper's guard. Harper pushes Zinfandel off and gets back to his feet. Harper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zinfandel.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kermodian not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smyth moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Ryan Larkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smyth closes the distance and clinches. Smyth gets through Larkin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short body shot lands from Smyth as the two fighters clinch.
Larkin throws a punch but it's blocked by Smyth. Larkin swings wildly with an uppercut but Smyth uses good head movement to avoid it. A right handed body shot lands from Smyth.

Hart throws a nice looking combination but Vronsky bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hart fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vronsky. Vronsky connects with a looping right hand.

The fighters circle momentarily. Vronsky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hart takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Vronsky misses with a looping left. Hart closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vronsky circles away. Hart wants to slow Vronsky down by chopping away at his legs. Vronsky shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hart manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Vronsky advances position into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vronsky cracks Hart with a big elbow. Hart tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vronsky wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Vronsky is looking to take a break and control but Hart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hart is looking to improve his position but Vronsky isn't that keen on the idea. Hart is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Vronsky landing shots from mount. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Vronsky unloading with bombs! Vronsky fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Mantegna is rocked! Mantegna switches off momentarily and Malek cracks him with a monster right hand! Mantegna topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Malek dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Malek!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jai Malek! After the fight, Jai Malek was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Kronburger looks gassed! Quik tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A nice inside leg kick there by Quik. That's going to slow Kronburger down. Quik lands an uppercut, right on the button! Kronburger tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jamal Quik! Jamal Quik spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
