Coe's entrance music is Insane In The Membrane - Cypress Hill. A fine choice. Matsumoto has chosen Sepultura - Territory as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matsumoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Coe.
Matsumoto moves out of range of the leg kick from Coe.
Cy Coe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Matsumoto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Matsumoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Nkemakolam here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nkemakolam lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens McMorrow up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Nkemakolam from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw McMorrow's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
