Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aj Teixeira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hector Alves! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Alves dives in and grabs Teixeira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Teixeira pushes down on Alves's head and hops out. Nice takedown defense from Teixeira. No joy for Alves on that attempt. Teixeira throws a lazy right hand but Alves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Teixeira stuffs the takedown attempt from Alves. Alves gets slowly back to his feet. Aj Teixeira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Alves. Alves fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Teixeira throws a leg kick which misses Alves's front leg but catches the back leg as Alves tries to avoid it. Teixeira stuffs the takedown attempt from Alves. Alves gets slowly back to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Teixeira. No joy for Alves on that attempt. Teixeira connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alves's hands. Teixeira keeps the fight on the outside. Alves staying out of range there. Alves fails to land the takedown. Teixeira throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head.
It looks like Hector Alves has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Teixeira misses with a hook. A jab from Teixeira misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Alves. Alves postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Teixeira manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alves's best efforts. Teixeira is looking to improve his position.
Alves misses with a head shot. Teixeira uses the momentum to regain guard. Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Teixeira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Teixeira preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves throws an elbow that misses. Teixeira uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Alves's guard. Nice move by Teixeira! Alves trying to keep a closed guard but Teixeira is proving a slippery customer.
Teixeira has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Alves looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Teixeira has picked Alves up and slammed him! Alves can't keep hold of the triangle and Teixeira manages to pass to side control! Teixeira working away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Teixeira is looking to take a break and control but Alves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Alves gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Alves content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Alves engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Teixeira utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Alves has gone for a leg lock! Teixeira slips out almost immediately though and dives into Alves's guard. Alves is looking for a triangle but Teixeira pushes his legs off easily.
Alves wants to sweep but no luck. Hector Alves has got the better of the ground game so far.

Teixeira is sitting in close to Alves's body. Alves has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Teixeira is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Teixeira is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Alves.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pehmytkudos sizes up Drakkar with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Pehmytkudos stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Drakkar. Pehmytkudos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Drakkar moves away from the strike by Pehmytkudos. Pehmytkudos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Pehmytkudos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Drakkar throws a low kick but Pehmytkudos moves out of range easily. Drakkar digs a good hook to Pehmytkudos's body.

Can Drakkar finish him? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pehmytkudos leaves his chin hanging out and Drakkar seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Pehmytkudos crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Kawashima dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Conda stiff and motionless on the mat!

A relieved looking Eiji Kawashima thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Cloltran feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Silvas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Cloltran uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Silva. Cloltran wants to land a leg kick but Silva is out of range. Cloltran lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively. Silva throws a looping overhand right but Cloltran ducks down to avoid it. A slapping body kick lands there for Silva. Rafa Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good leg kick by Silva there. Cloltran turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Cloltran working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Silva tries to improve position but can't. Cloltran wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working. Silva is trying to control Cloltran's posture but Cloltran avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cloltran trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom. Silva manages to get back to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cloltran lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Silva blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cloltran. Cloltran has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cloltran throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Silva controlling the position for now. Silva tries to get to full guard but Cloltran has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Cloltran missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cloltran thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Silva's head. Cloltran is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cloltran not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Silva is trying to maintain the position but Cloltran is very close to passing his half guard. Cloltran with the ground and pound but Silva uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Silva is controlling Cloltran's posture. Cloltran scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Cloltran connects with a couple of short punches. Cloltran won't allow Silva to sweep him here. Silva has control of Cloltran's left arm, preventing Cloltran from doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Cloltran is proving a slippery customer.
Silva pulls Cloltran in close to his closed guard and prevents Cloltran from doing any damage or advancing position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Buzz Cloltran will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Cloltran tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Silva goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Silva misses with a right hand and Cloltran counters with a thumping low kick. Silva cracks the inside of Cloltran's front leg. Cloltran uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silva. Cloltran closes the distance and clinches. Cloltran taking a breather. Cloltran pushes Silva back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Buzz Cloltran has scored more points in the clinch so far. Silva lands a shoulder strike. Cloltran misses with a body punch.
Cloltran is looking to take this one to the mat. Cloltran swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is pressed up against the cage. Cloltran has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Cloltran takes one to the chin there. Cloltran chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Silva can pounce on him.
Silva lands a leg kick that knocks Cloltran off balance momentarily. Silva scores with a push kick. Cloltran throws a lazy right hand but Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Cloltran keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Good exchange - Silva coming out on top. Sloppy strikes from Silva. Those never looked like landing. Cloltran looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva staying out of range there. Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cloltran. Buzz Cloltran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cloltran throws a lazy right hand but Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A good leg kick by Cloltran. Cloltran looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Silva manages to break the clinch.

Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cloltran doesn't seem bothered though. Cloltran throws out a loose jab but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it. Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Cloltran, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buzz Cloltran. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva misses with a kick to the body.

Silva throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Cloltran jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice body punch from Silva. Silva lands a nice looking kick to the body. Cloltran takes a step back to recover. Cloltran tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Silva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cloltran has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cloltran takes a body punch but keeps moving. Both fighters circling a little - Silva finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Cloltran tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Cloltran. Silva avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Silva scores with a push kick. Cloltran throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it. Rafa Silva is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. A decent looking body kick lands there for Silva. Cloltran misses with a series of wild punches.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Cloltran takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cloltran. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cloltran. Cloltran circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Rafa Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
