4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pozar Pozar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tyson Mendes! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pozar tries to clinch but Mendes moves out of range. Pozar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pozar shoots in looking for a takedown but Mendes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pozar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pozar tries to clinch there but Mendes circles away.
Pozar tries to clinch up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pozar. Mendes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pozar sprawls well initially but Mendes persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pozar is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mendes scores with a couple of nice shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mendes working over Pozar with some ground and pound. Pozar looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mendes lands a nice short elbow. Mendes lands with a punch from half guard. Mendes controlling the action here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pozar wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mendes slows the pace down in half guard. Let's hope that Mendes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Pozar is trying to stand back up but Mendes is controlling him
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mendes in particular looking to stall.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyson Mendes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Mendes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pozar was covering up waiting for the punch and Mendes finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mendes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Pozar wants to stand up but Mendes is controlling him. Mendes scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mendes cracks Pozar with a solid left hand. Mendes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pozar's head. Mendes connects with a couple of short punches. Pozar throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendes postures up and lands a big shot to Pozar's brow. Mendes scoring with punches to the head and body. Mendes distracts Pozar with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Mendes scoring with punches to the head and body. Mendes cracks Pozar with a solid left hand. Mendes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Pozar will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pozar throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Mendes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tyson Mendes has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Mendes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mendes looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Mendes is looking to take a break and control but Pozar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Still in half guard, Mendes seems content to control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mendes connects with a nice short shot to Pozar's temple. Mendes is looking for a kimura here.
Pozar pushes Mendes off looking to stand but Mendes dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Mendes dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pozar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pozar Pozar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mendes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pozar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pozar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Mendes tries to advance to mount but Pozar denies him. Mendes connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pozar some visible discomfort.
Mendes moves into full mount! Mendes breaks from Pozar's wrist control and lands an elbow. Pozar keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mendes raining down shots from the mount!
Pozar is rocked! Pozar is in a horrible position here. Mendes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Oh Pozar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mendes lands a heavy elbow. Mendes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mendes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes landing strikes from the mount. Pozar is in all sorts of trouble here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alonso stuffs the takedown attempt from Solomon. Solomon gets slowly back to his feet. Alonso throws a head kick but Solomon moves out of range.
Alonso closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Solomon to the mat! Solomon manages to get full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Alonso forces his way into half guard. Alonso is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Solomon is just riding it out for now. Alonso eventually gives up the hold. Solomon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Solomon has hold of Alonso's hands but Alonso slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alonso seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Solomon on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Alonso has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Alonso looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alonso landing punches. Alonso controlling the position easily from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alonso is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Alonso extends the arm and Solomon is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rexum looks to land a left hand but Maya moved out of range nicely. Rexum lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maya circles away quickly and effectively. Rexum scores with a one two! Maya had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Maya slips a jab from Rexum. Rexum is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maya. Rexum throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Maya scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Maya wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rexum keeps working. Rexum tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rexum is being controlled here. Maya is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rexum has escaped the position, nice work there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maya takes a little break here. Rexum wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maya lands an elbow. Rexum is trying to get back to half guard. Maya tries for a kimura but Rexum is defending well. Maya thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rexum is looking to regain half guard here but Maya keeps moving and retains side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maya lands some shots froms side control. Maya slows the pace down. Maya is trying to get an arm triangle but Rexum is defending well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maya is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rexum is trying to escape and Maya transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rexum is forced to tap! Nice work there by Maya! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Damian Maya! During a confident post fight interview, Damian Maya thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jitus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Yelgersmold counters with a nice right hand that sends Jitus toppling to the canvas! Jitus scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Yelgersmold finish him?!
It looks like Vinny Jitus has been cut. Vinny Jitus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jitus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yelgersmold drops Jitus with a huge uppercut! Jitus drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Yelgersmold is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drakaath Yelgersmold! Post fight, an emotional Drakaath Yelgersmold said 'I come from the land of frost giants and will not be pushed around by mere mortals ever again!!!!'.

Rios throws a leg kick and Pound counters with a nice leg kick. Rios tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pound swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rios throws a push kick but Pound slaps the foot to one side. Rios wants to clinch up but Pound keeps it at a distance. Rios tries a low kick but Pound avoids it. Rios misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pound.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rios looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rios fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rios uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pound. Pound misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Rios does no damage. Pound connects with a solid leg kick. Pound blocks a leg kick. Nice body kick from Rios. Pound thows a body shot but no joy. Pound lands with an overhand left. Pound blocks a head kick by Rios.
Pound blocks a jab. Rios looks to land a body kick but Pound moved away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Rios lands a nice uppercut. Pound with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Rios tries a body shot but Pound blocks it.
This has been an exciting period of action! Pound lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pound blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pound has had enough of the clinch but Rios keeps him there for the moment. Pound tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Pound using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rios has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Pound manages to break the clinch.
Pound lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Rios throws a head kick that misses. Pound moves out of range as Rios throws a body kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rios lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pound has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pound and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Pound scores with a nice body kick.
Rios thows a leg kick but Pound checks it and Pound counters with a right hand to the body. Pound misses with the combination.
Pound misses with a looping left. Pound scores with a nice head shot. Pound misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rios connects with a high kick. Pound will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A lazy body kick from Rios and Pound holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Rios takes a knee right on the jaw!
Rios is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Pound is keeping busy. Pound with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Pound lands a body shot. The referee is keeping an eye on Rios - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Rios misses with the head strike.
Pound scores with a knee to the head.
Pound manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rios tries to clinch up. The fighters circling - Rios throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pound checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Nice cross by Pound. Rios tries a head kick but it misses.
Pound scores with the left hand. Rios knows he should have avoided that one.
Rios is rocked! Pound feints and then cracks Rios's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rios down. Oh Rios is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pound throws an overhand right that has Rios reeling! Pound follows up with more punches and Rios is out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ground Pound! Ground Pound is the new light heavyweight champion! An out of breath Ground Pound thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
