4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Maserati! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tall shoots in and bounces Maserati off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Maserati has momentary wrist control but Tall slips an elbow through the middle. Tall postures up in Maserati's guard and throws a big left but Maserati blocks it. Tall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Tall preventing the sweep. Tall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Tall is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Maserati had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tall defends it easily. Maserati working for a triangle but Tall defends it easily.

Maserati kicks off Tall and gets to his feet. Tall fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Tall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maserati sprawls well. Maserati wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tall gets slowly back to his feet. Tall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maserati as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slawek Tall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Tall fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maserati avoids it really well and circles away. Tall throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maserati. Maserati tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Maserati closes the distance and pushes Tall back into the cage. Maserati with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Tall fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maserati sprawls well initially but Tall persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Maserati slips a foot under and gets full guard. Tall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maserati's guard. Tall with a couple of shots to the head there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tall with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Maserati has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tall scoring with some ground and pound.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tall closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tall lands in his opponent's guard. Tall is in close to Maserati's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Tall trying to control the position from guard on top but Maserati is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tall scoring with punches to the head and body. Maserati looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maserati has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tall has managed to get both his arms back between Maserati's legs - danger averted. Maserati tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maserati is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tall blocks a head kick by Maserati.
Tall will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slawek Tall dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Maserati has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tall is proving hard to escape from. Tall is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maserati is one step ahead there. Tall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tall decides to return to a standing position. Maserati moves in looking to clinch but Tall pushes him off. Maserati gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maserati looking for a sweep. Not yet Maserati, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tall chips away with some ground and pound. Tall is in close to Maserati's body, working some short punches and elbows. Tall prevents Maserati from getting back to his feet. Maserati is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tall defends well. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tall's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A punch combination from Tall misses. Maserati moves forwards but Tall connects with a nice, crisp jab. Maserati closes the distance and pushes Tall back into the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Maserati just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tall's brow. Tall is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Maserati with a knee to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tall tries to score a body lock takedown but Maserati shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Tall blocks the elbow strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Maserati's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Maserati is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. A nice elbow there by Tall. Tall working the ground and pound effectively.

Tall chips away with some ground and pound. Maserati wriggles free and stands up. Maserati tries to clinch there but Tall circles away.
Tall misses with a takedown and Maserati counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Tall is lucky that one didn't land flush. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Maserati looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tall is fending him off so far but Maserati persists. Nope, Tall circles away and we're back to standing. Tall fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tall doesn't succeed with the takedown and Maserati counters with a takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Luke Maserati will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Tall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Tall gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Maserati counters with a shoot takedown. Tall fights it but they end up in guard. Maserati wanted to stand there but Tall had control of the position. Tall trying to keep a closed guard but Maserati is proving a slippery customer.

Tall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Maserati is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Maserati wants to stand back up but Tall manages to pass into side control.
Maserati sneaks back into half guard. Maserati is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tall pulls his head out easily. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Maserati tries to roll over but Tall keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tall frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Tall lands with some strikes. Maserati keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Maserati is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Tall has control of Maserati's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Maserati regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Ribbon tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ribbon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ribbon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Houston to score an easy takedown into full guard. Houston wants to control from the top but Ribbon keeps moving. Ribbon wants to sweep but no luck. Houston wants to control from the top but Ribbon keeps moving. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Houston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ribbon trying to control the position here. Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nino Pagnotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nemean Athos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pagnotto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Very Ape - Nirvana. Athos is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Thundercats. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Pagnotto misses with a leg kick and Athos counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pagnotto thinking. Pagnotto doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Pagnotto is breathing heavily. Athos lands a glancing blow to the side of Pagnotto's head. Athos lands a left and a right that send Pagnotto crashing to the mat, dazed. Athos thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Athos works Pagnotto's body with a nice hook. Athos cracks a nice hook into Pagnotto's ribs. Athos is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Pagnotto rather than just go for the knockout. Athos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Pagnotto is rocked! Athos digs a good body shot into Pagnotto's ribs. Oh Pagnotto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Athos scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pagnotto doesn't seem bothered though. Pagnotto seems to have got his legs back now. Good shot there by Athos. Athos keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That sent Pagnotto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Athos.

Pagnotto doesn't seem phased though. Athos stuns Pagnotto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Athos. Nino Pagnotto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Athos moves out of range as Pagnotto strikes. Athos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Athos ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Athos throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Pagnotto fails with an attempt to clinch.

Pagnotto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Athos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Athos lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Nino Pagnotto's cut is getting worse. Athos dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pagnotto moves forwards but Athos connects with a nice, crisp jab. An inside leg kick lands from Athos. Athos lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pagnotto at a distance.
Athos is working the combinations to good effect here. Athos dips down and scores with a jab to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pagnotto looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Left hook, right uppercut from Athos. Athos chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A nice inside leg kick there by Athos. That's going to slow Pagnotto down. Pagnotto is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Athos lands with a nice body punch.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Pagnotto might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Athos with a body punch. A glancing blow. Athos has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pagnotto misses with a shot to the body and Athos counters with a left to the body. An inside leg kick lands from Athos. Pagnotto takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Murpy moves out of range of the body kick. The fighters circling - Murpy throws out the jab but it was never going to land. No joy there for Albers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Murpy shoots for a takedown but Albers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Albers listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Albers throws a head kick but Murpy moves out of range.
Murpy fails with the takedown. Albers thuds a left hand into Murpy's body. Albers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Murpy manages to avoid it. Murpy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Albers as he avoids it easily. Virgil Albers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Murpy. Albers dodges the punch combination from Murpy.

Hero shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rawse looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hero wants to stand up but Rawse has a hold of him and won't allow it. Rawse trying to control the position but Hero is working away. Rawse looks gassed! Hero regains half guard. Hero regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rawse. Hero avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rawse scores with a takedown into Hero's guard. Rawse throws a big right hand that misses. Hero wants to get back to his feet but Rawse is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rawse prevents Hero from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hero wants to sweep but no luck.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hero throws a hook but Rawse blocks it. Hero dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hero connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hero is looking to land body kicks. Hero lands a jab to the nose. Rawse darts in and clinches Hero up against the cage. Hero wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Hero manages to break the clinch.
Hero lands a lovely overhand right. Hero dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rawse. That did some damage! Jab from Hero. Hero showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rawse.

Hero is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Rawse tries to clinch up. Hero lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Hero throws a combination that misses and Rawse counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rawse tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rawse takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hero tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hero is trying to control Rawse's posture but Rawse avoids it. Rawse in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rawse is trying to ground and pound but Hero uses the momentary lack of control by Rawse to regain half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hero misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rawse.
Hero throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rawse on the side of the head. Rawse avoids the body shot from Hero.
Hero lands with a nice combination. Rawse backs away looking to recover. Rawse scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hero drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rawse wants to control but Hero postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hero landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Rawse manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Hero tries to roll over but Rawse keeps him under control. Rawse is keen to just control but Hero is a slippery customer. Rawse throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Christopher Hero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hero trying to control but Rawse postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hero punching from the bottom.
Rawse has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rawse thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hero to regain full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rawse takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Hero throws a lazy right hand but Rawse sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hero fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rawse manages to avoid it. Hero moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Hero throws a head kick that Rawse semi-blocks.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rawse gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Hero showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hero, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perseus tries to work over Wehland's front leg with a kick but Wehland checks it. Perseus throws a combination. Wehland tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Henning Wehland has been cut. Wehland looks for a takedown but Perseus sprawls well. Wehland shoots in for a takedown but Perseus shows good takedown defense. Perseus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wehland.
Perseus throws a leg kick which misses Wehland's front leg but catches the back leg as Wehland tries to avoid it. Wehland looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McNeil drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. McNeil trying to control the position from guard on top but Crodonilson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McNeil prevents Crodonilson from getting back to his feet. McNeil is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. McNeil postures up in Crodonilson's guard and throws a big left but Crodonilson blocks it. McNeil wants to pass the guard but Crodonilson is keeping the position. McNeil trying to control but Crodonilson is working from the bottom. McNeil throws and elbow that misses. Crodonilson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McNeil's guard. Nice move by Crodonilson! McNeil is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Crodonilson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
