20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dynamite Nixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greco Roman! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nixon misses with a hook. Roman ducked under it nicely. Nixon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roman. Nixon looks to throw the jab but Roman is out of range. Nixon moves into the clinch. Roman managing to block the knees to the body from Nixon.
Nixon swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Roman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Nixon.
Nixon scores with a shoulder strike. Roman manages to break the clinch.
Nixon doesn't manage to clinch there - Roman circles away.
Nixon takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Roman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nixon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roman was well out of range. Poor timing from Nixon. Roman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nixon. Roman lands a slapping body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nixon thows a left - swing and a miss! Nixon moves in looking to clinch but Roman pushes him off. Roman stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Dynamite Nixon has been cut. Roman scores with a jab to the body. Roman slips a jab and a cross from Nixon.
Roman loads up on a big right hand but Nixon slips the punch. Dynamite Nixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Roman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nixon's half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Roman not landing any meaningful shots this time. Roman passes into side control, despite Nixon's attempt to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Nixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Roman wants to control but Nixon is keeping him busy. Nixon sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roman is looking to advance position but Nixon won't allow it. Roman working Nixon over with strikes. Roman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Roman seems to be working for a kimura but Nixon defends the submission attempt. Roman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Roman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Roman is looking to advance position but Nixon won't allow it. Roman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nixon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nixon gets back to full guard.
Roman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roman has managed to get both his arms back between Nixon's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nixon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Roman stacks Nixon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Roman! Nixon is working to avoid the ground and pound but Roman connects with a decent elbow. Nixon wants to control but Roman postures up. Roman is looking to take a break and control but Nixon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nixon is trying to get back to half guard. Roman working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Roman working away. Roman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nixon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Nixon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Roman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nixon struggling a bit here. Nixon tries to bench press Roman off him but Roman keeps the position. Roman working the head with strikes. Roman takes a little break here. Nixon wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nixon is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nixon takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Roman lands a few punches from side control. Nixon is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greco Roman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dynamite Nixon's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Nixon lands with a straight right. Roman didn't see that one coming. Roman takes a body punch but keeps moving. Nixon throws a looping overhand right but Roman ducks down to avoid it. Nixon cracks Roman with a good jab. Nixon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Roman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nixon moves into the clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Roman. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Nixon is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Roman is keeping busy. Nixon throws a head punch that misses. Nixon tries to stall but Roman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Nixon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Nixon throws a series of punches but Roman avoids them all with ease. Roman jabs Nixon right on the nose. Nixon blinks but takes it well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nixon lands with a hook. Roman tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Roman throws out a loose jab but Nixon uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Nixon - just one landing. Nixon scores with a jab to the jaw. Roman looking to score a takedown here. Nixon is defending well but Roman drives through and ends up in Nixon's guard. Roman is in close to Nixon's body, working some short punches and elbows. Roman lands a couple of decent looking shots. Roman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nixon has his feet on Roman's thighs here. He's pushed Roman off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Roman screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lange connects with a single shot there. Dudek steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lange. Dudek looks to land a combination but Lange avoids it well. Lange throws a right hand that misses
and Dudek counters with a big head kick but Lange shrugs it off. Dudek tries to clinch up but Lange circles away and keeps his distance. Dudek pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lange is out of range and Dudek settles back down. Lange lands a head shot. Lange throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lange scores with a jab. Lange displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dudek throws out the jab. Lange throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lange misses with a right hand and Dudek counters with a three punch combo that has Lange backing up. Lange nods at Dudek to acknowledge the strikes. Lange throws a jab when Dudek was well out of range. Lange throws a jab when Dudek was well out of range. Lange throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sato throws a low kick but Thomas moves out of range easily. Thomas moves forwards but Sato connects with a nice, crisp jab. That kick from Thomas tenderised Sato's leg. Sato is trying to keep his angry face on. Sato lands with a right hand. Sato shoots for a double leg takedown but Thomas sprawls well. He's pushed Sato's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Thomas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sato was well out of range. Poor timing from Thomas. Sato closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Thomas quickly recovers to half guard. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Scott wants to control from the top but Billington keeps moving. Billington trying to control the position.

Veron working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wise is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wise is adopting a defensive guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Veron controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Veron wants to control from the top but Wise keeps moving.

Wise listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Wise closes the distance and pushes Veron back into the cage. Veron is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Wise misses with some punches.
