The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Varvaskoukku throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Miller decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Varvaskoukku's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Varvaskoukku looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Miller has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Miller has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Varvaskoukku to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Miller is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Varvaskoukku pulls down on the head and he's put Miller to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! AtlaSon looks to land a combination. Nabijos sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Nabijos just misses with a punch to the body.

Nabijos loads up on a big right hand but AtlaSon slips the punch. Nabijos throws a head kick but AtlaSon moves out of range.
AtlaSon throws a right and a left that Nabijos avoids nicely. Nabijos scores with a jab to the body. Nabijos throws a head kick that misses. AtlaSon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. AtlaSon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nabijos manages to avoid it. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Palhares and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Hunt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hunt fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Palhares throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hunt's waist but Hunt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Palhares off to one side. Palhares checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hunt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Palhares. Palhares is looking to chop away at Hunt's legs. Palhares connects with a nice looking jab.

Palhares turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Palhares dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hunt is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Palhares has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hunt. Hunt moves out of range of the strikes. Palhares lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Hunt fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Palhares on the side of the head. Hunt avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hunt throws a hook but Palhares blocks it. A nice inside leg kick there by Hunt. That's going to slow Palhares down. Nice jab there from Hunt. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hunt crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Palhares - the referee stops the clock and Hunt gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Palhares. Hunt manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Palhares lands with an uppercut that bounces Hunt off the cage and back into range. Hunt scores with a jab. Hunt moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Hunt throws a leg kick that is checked so Palhares counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Palhares is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hunt is working hard here to advance position. Palhares passes easily into side control. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dingleberry throws a lazy right hand but Jokinen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jokinen throws a push kick but Dingleberry slaps the foot to one side. Dick Dingleberry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jokinen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

This has been an exciting period of action! Marciano scores with a kick to the midsection. Marciano thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Overeem if he has to take too many more of those.

Marciano sends Overeem crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Marciano is motioning to the referee to let Overeem up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Marciano cracks Overeem with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Overeem tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Marciano pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Overeem is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Power attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Higashikuni fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Power avoids it really well and circles away. Higashikuni misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Power.

That was a close round but I would say that Arnie Ironz will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
