Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Danny Ochoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamid Zaferani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ochoa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ice Cube - I Rep That West. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ochoa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ochoa misses with a double jab.
Both fighters circling a little - Ochoa finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Jab by Ochoa. Ochoa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Zaferani throws a front kick that sends Ochoa stumbling back into the cage. Zaferani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ochoa moves away. Zaferani thumps Ochoa with a low kick. Zaferani looks to throw the jab but Ochoa is out of range. A solid body kick from Zaferani. Ochoa paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ochoa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zaferani manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ochoa. Hamid Zaferani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zaferani goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Zaferani moves out of range of the leg kick from Ochoa. Zaferani misses with a body punch
and Ochoa counters with a leg kick.

Ochoa fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Zaferani is out of range. Zaferani throws the kick towards the body but Ochoa avoids it. Ochoa throws a combination that misses and Zaferani counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ochoa is lucky that one didn't land flush. Ochoa moves forwards but Zaferani connects with a nice, crisp jab. Zaferani throws a body kick that misses. A combination from Ochoa does no damage. A solid leg kick lands there for Ochoa.
Zaferani throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Zaferani keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Ochoa tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Zaferani is able to avoid easily. Ochoa is looking to clinch but Zaferani is avoiding it.
Ochoa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zaferani finds it's way round the side to connect with Ochoa's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ochoa throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Ochoa lands a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ochoa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Zaferani has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Zaferani and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Zaferani darts in and clinches Ochoa up against the cage. Ochoa throws a head punch that misses. Zaferani blocking some punches.
Zaferani breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ochoa throws a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Ochoa. Zaferani fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ochoa on the side of the head. Zaferani keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zaferani is looking to land body kicks. Ochoa cracks Zaferani with a good jab. Zaferani misses with a kick to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zaferani, as that shot connected.
A big left from Zaferani misses. Ochoa pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zaferani feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ochoa's calf. Zaferani's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ochoa under the eye. Zaferani scores with a sloppy right hand. Ochoa should have avoided that one. Ochoa shoots for a double leg takedown but Zaferani sprawls well. He's pushed Ochoa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A shot to the body from Ochoa misses and Zaferani counters with a head kick that drops Ochoa to the mat! Ochoa scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Ochoa is rocked! Zaferani has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. This has been an exciting period of action! Ochoa takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Oh Ochoa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Zaferani lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Ochoa falls backwards - clearly groggy! Zaferani dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Fuujin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Convicted Fight Club in the buildup to the fight. Aoki misses with a looping left. Aoki misses with a few strikes there.

That took the wind out of him momentarily. Aoki takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Aoki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Aoki missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fuujin manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aoki stands up over Fuujin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Aoki is looking to work some ground and pound but Fuujin has wrist control. Aoki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fuujin holds on and takes a little breather. Fuujin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Shinichi Fuujin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Aoki takes a swing at Fuujin's ribcage but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Fuujin. That one must have hurt. Aoki walks into a stiff left hand from Fuujin. Fuujin throws a poor cross that misses
and Aoki counters with a left to the body. Fuujin lands a two punch combo.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machete slips under a jab. Peltier looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Machete gets back to full guard.
Peltier postures up in Machete's guard and throws a big left but Machete blocks it. Machete manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peltier manages to get himself to full guard.

Peltier misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Peltier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Machete. Peltier shoots in looking for a takedown but Machete manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Peltier's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machete throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Peltier sees it coming and avoids it easily. Peltier has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zane Peltier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Machete looks to land a body kick but Peltier moved away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peltier. Peltier has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Machete. Both fighters circling a little - Machete finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Peltier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Machete to score with a decent uppercut. Machete tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Machete looks to score with a jab to the body but Peltier is just out of range. Nice sprawl there from Machete as Peltier shoots in.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machete lunges at Peltier with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Peltier's hand. Machete throws a series of punches but Peltier avoids them all with ease. Peltier blocks a leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Machete connects with a looping right hand.
Machete wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Peltier moves out of range of the body kick from Machete.
Peltier shoots in and drives through. Machete sprawls well. Machete thuds his shin into the meat of Peltier's side. Andres Machete seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice body kick from Machete. Machete stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Peltier buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machete throws a big shot that misses. Peltier closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machete circles away. Machete lands with an uppercut that bounces Peltier off the cage and back into range. Machete stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machete wants it to stay on the feet. Machete lands with a good body shot. No luck for Peltier with that takedown attempt. Machete scores with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peltier shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Peltier throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machete gets full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peltier throwing strikes from guard but Machete blocks nicely. Zane Peltier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Peltier is looking to work some ground and pound but Machete has wrist control. Peltier slips nicely into half guard. Machete is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Peltier's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Peltier's back! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Peltier tries to roll but Machete sticks to his back.

Peltier throws a leg kick and Machete connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Machete bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Machete lands with a straight right. Peltier didn't see that one coming.
Peltier is rocked! Machete misses with an uppercut. Oh Peltier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Machete looks to land a right hand but Peltier moved out of range. Peltier seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machete scores with a jab to the jaw. Machete jabbing away but nothing is landing. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peltier is defended easily by Machete. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zane Peltier. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Peltier. Machete lands with a thumping leg kick.

Peltier shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Machete defends it nicely. A combination from Machete does no damage. Peltier uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Machete. A big left from Machete misses. Andres Machete seems to be getting the better of the standup. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Machete's jab looks to have found its range, popping Peltier under the eye. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peltier takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sanchez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sanchez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Sanchez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Donowitz defends well and Sanchez ends up having to push Donowitz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanchez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Oswaldo Sanchez has got the better of the ground game so far. Sanchez is fighting to break Donowitz's control of his arms but Donowitz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Donowitz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sanchez. Donowitz pulls Sanchez in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Donowitz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Sanchez just misses with a punch to the body.

Sanchez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sanchez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Donowitz's legs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Donowitz is trying to get back to his feet. Donowitz struggling a bit here. Sanchez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. You can see the frustration on Donowitz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Carlton comes to the cage accompanied by Samael - Baphomets Throne. Shakur has chosen Tatanka - Africa as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Carlton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
38 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Emeka Shakur! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlton scores with a crisp jab that stopped Shakur in his tracks.
It looks like Emeka Shakur has been cut. Shakur misses with a lunging right hand
and Carlton counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A jab from Shakur finds it's way through Carlton's defenses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carlton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Emeka Shakur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shakur throws a head kick but Carlton moves out of range.
Carlton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Carlton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shakur checks the leg kick nicely there.

Shakur finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Shakur tries to clinch but Carlton moves out of range. Shakur displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carlton throws out the jab. Shakur misses the jab. Carlton feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shakur's calf. Shakur jabs Carlton to the body, keeping him at a distance. Carlton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Shakur scores with a jab to the head.
Carlton misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carlton, as that shot connected.
Carlton slips a jab and a cross from Shakur.
Shakur misses with an uppercut. Carlton slips under a jab from Shakur. Some bone on bone action there as Shakur checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Carlton is looking to chop away at Shakur's legs. Carlton shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Carlton scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Carlton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shakur throws out the jab. Shakur throws a leg kick that misses. Shakur tries a low kick but Carlton avoids it. Carlton throws a head kick but Shakur moves out of range.
Carlton tries to clinch but Shakur moves out of range. Carlton is looking to clinch. Shakur fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Shakur takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carlton misses with a leg kick. Shakur checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Carlton uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shakur. Carlton throws a quick inside leg kick. Shakur lands a lovely overhand right. Carlton cracks Shakur with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Carlton lands a left and a right that send Shakur crashing to the mat, dazed. Carlton thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Carlton takes a jab right on the kisser.

Carlton lands a really nice looking cross but Shakur seems unphased.
That has opened up Emeka Shakur's cut even more. Carlton misses with a low kick. Shakur throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Shakur checks a leg kick. Carlton staying out of range there. Shakur moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Carlton slips under a jab. Shakur misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carlton.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlton takes a swing at Shakur's ribcage but misses. Carlton lands a left and a right that send Shakur crashing to the mat, dazed. Carlton thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Carlton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Shakur has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Shakur there as he acknowledges the shot.
The cut above Emeka Shakur's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Shakur throws a head kick but Carlton moves out of range.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Carlton has cracked Shakur with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Carlton lands another huge swinging hook and Shakur tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Shakur, before Carlton can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kyle Carlton! Kyle Carlton thanked the fans post fight for their support.
