The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutherford drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rutherford looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. You can see the frustration on Kong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kong tries to improve position but can't. Rutherford is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rutherford keeping moving, preventing Kong from controlling successfully. Rutherford might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kong stands and steps away. Rutherford gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kong looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kong! Kong gets to mount! Rutherford was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Rutherford is squirming around, avoiding Kong's attempts to control the action. Rutherford is working to get back to half guard.

Rutherford shoots in looking for a takedown. Kong tries to sprawl out of it but Rutherford keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kong lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rutherford's sensitive parts.

Rogers looks to land a right hand but Williams moved out of range. Williams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rogers. Williams feints and as Rogers raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rogers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Williams postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rogers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Williams, into his guard. Williams keeping moving, preventing Rogers from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Williams controls Rogers momentarily but Rogers frees himself. Rogers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Williams has his foot on Rogers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rogers works his way back into a safe position though. Williams looking to control.
