The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Seth Sinclair clinches with his opponent.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Seth Sinclair just stands there and leans against the cage. Seth Sinclair breaks the clinch.
Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Seth Sinclair is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Johnson advances nicely into full mount. Osold Seth Sinclair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Seth Sinclair moves into range and connects with a jab. Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Seth Sinclair pinned against the cage. Seth Sinclair gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Seth Sinclair tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Johnson appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Seth Sinclair defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson. Seth Sinclair forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches. Seth Sinclair manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Nico Johnson has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Seth Sinclair stands up and beckons Johnson to his feet. Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manus Grant! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grant tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Grant ducks under a wild hook from Fink. Grant tries a head kick but it misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Fink misses its target. A slow jab from Grant misses its intended target. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fink, as that shot connected.
Fink walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Grant uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fink. Grant with a nice cross. Fink looks to land a right hand but Grant moved out of range. Fink blocks a head kick by Grant.
Fink swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Grant keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A jab from Fink finds it's way through Grant's defenses. Nice straight punches there by Fink. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fink. This has been an exciting period of action! Fink throws a body shot but no joy. Fink throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fink fires out a quick counter leg kick but Grant just manages to avoid it. Grant swings for the body but Fink moves out of range.

Fink slips under a jab from Grant. Grant moves into the clinch. Grant keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fink's efforts to push away. Fink looking to slow down the pace here. Fink swings wildly with an uppercut but Grant uses good head movement to avoid it. Grant is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fink is keeping busy. Fink's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Grant swings for the body but Fink moves out of range.

A clash of legs there as Grant blocks the low kick. Grant closes the distance and pushes Fink back into the cage. Our sources have told us that Fink has been working on his elbows in the gym. Fink takes a knee to the side of the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fink looking to slow down the pace here. Grant looking to throw knees to the head but Fink is blocking nicely.

Fink tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Grant is able to avoid easily. Grant throws a body shot but no joy. Fink rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Grant makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Grant looks to score with a jab to the body but Fink is just out of range. Fink loads up on a big right hand but Grant slips the punch. Grant unleashes a big counter combination but Fink bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Grant looks to throw the jab but Fink is out of range. Grant misses with a wild body shot. Fink takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Grant makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Oh Fink is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fink fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Grant buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fink gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Grant gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Fink is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Manus Grant! During a confident post fight interview, Manus Grant thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. In defeat, Barton Fink stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm becoming very sentimental now, sorry art.'.

Welsh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Welsh is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Welsh tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rivas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Welsh somewhat. Welsh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rivas as he avoids it easily. Rivas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Welsh on his heels. He'll look to pass Welsh's guard now, I'm sure. Rivas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rivas wanted to stand there but Welsh had control of the position. Rivas throws an elbow that misses. Welsh uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rivas's guard. Nice move by Welsh!

Rainey told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Rainey takes a shot to the head. Rainey's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Suokas blocks a body shot from Rainey. A knee to the head by Suokas.

Caesar fails to land the takedown. A telegraphed right hand from Officer misses the target. Caesar wants to counter the offense by Officer and move into the clinch position. Officer misses with a right hand and Caesar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Officer won't be happy with that. Caesar taking a breather here. Officer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Caesar stopping the sweep attempt from Officer. Caesar passes into half guard. Caesar prevents Officer from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Officer looking for submissions off his back. Officer gets back to full guard.
Officer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Caesar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That looked like it hurt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wexler swings for the body but Alcatraz moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wexler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Alcatraz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wexler. Alcatraz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wexler's guard. Alcatraz won't allow Wexler to sweep him here. Wexler pulls Alcatraz in close to his closed guard and prevents Alcatraz from doing any damage or advancing position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wexler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Alcatraz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
