The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pavic throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Phoenix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Josip Pavic has been cut.
Phoenix ducks under a wild hook from Pavic.
Phoenix tries to close the distance and clinch but Pavic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pavic is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Phoenix tries to clinch up but Pavic circles away and keeps his distance.

I was talking to Pavic's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
