1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucifer Palhares! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palhares stuffs the takedown attempt from Mcgregor. Mcgregor gets slowly back to his feet. Palhares throws the left hand but Mcgregor avoids the punch easily. Mcgregor shoots for a takedown but Palhares saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mcgregor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mcgregor is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Palhares is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcgregor's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcgregor's back! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcgregor wants to escape the position.

Palhares is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mcgregor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Palhares, who protects the arm well. Palhares is trying to improve his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mcgregor swings around for an armbar but Palhares sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mcgregor's guard. Cain Mcgregor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mcgregor is looking for a triangle here but Palhares uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Lucifer Palhares. Well Palhares has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rage tries to clinch but Li is having none of it. Li throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rage misses with a lunging right hand
and Li counters with a three punch combo that has Rage backing up. Rage nods at Li to acknowledge the strikes. Li throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Rage.
It looks like Ryan Rage has been cut. Rage misses the shot to the body. Rage fails to land with a series of punches.
Li throws a body punch but Rage moves out of range. Rage showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Li.
Despite the aggression on Rage's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Li throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rage lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Li backs up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rage tries to clinch and Li counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Rage gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Li holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Li is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rage gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rage manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Li is looking to work some ground and pound but Rage has wrist control. Li trying to control but Rage is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Li looking to pass the guard. Rage wants to stand up but Li is controlling him. Rage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Li can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rage avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rage can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Li controls the pace. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rage looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Rage shoots in but no luck this time. Ryan Rage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Li rushes Rage and presses him up against the cage. Rage throws an elbow that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Li tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Rage with a lazy takedown attempt and Li counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Chris Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Rage. Rage avoids the head kick by Li.
Rage throws a series of punches but Li moves out of range. A punch lands to the side of Rage 's head but he takes it in his stride. Rage getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Rage tries for a takedown but Li sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rage looks winded! Li gets a clinch. Rage tries to break the clinch but Li is controlling the position. Rage is defending well against a takedown attempt. Li stalls. Rage has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. Li is rocked! A good leg kick by Rage. Oh Li is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rage lands a huge takedown. Li is out but the ref is slow to react and Rage lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Li lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uk scores with a jab. Sebastian pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Uk swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sebastian throws a head kick that misses. Uk pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sebastian uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Uk. Sebastian throws a front kick aimed at Uk's knee but Uk avoids it well. Some wild striking there from Uk.

Uk throws a hook to the side of Sebastian's head but Sebastian sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Uk fails to land with a series of punches.

Uk throws a hook but Sebastian avoids it easily. Sebastian changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Uk misses with a looping left. Uk misses with a straight right. Uk on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sebastian. Sebastian obviously looking to wear him down.
Sebastian walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Uk looks to land a left hand but Sebastian moved out of range nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sebastian does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Uk steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sebastian. That one must have hurt. Uk lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Sebastian wants to land a leg kick but Uk is out of range. Sebastian feints and as Uk raises his hands in defense, Sebastian changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dong Uk. I think Uk has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kong moves out of range as Killmaz strikes. Killmaz throws a nice outside leg kick. Killmaz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like King Kong has been cut. Kong moves into the clinch successfully.
Killmaz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kong takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Killmaz throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Killmaz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Killmaz fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Killmaz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Killmaz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kong is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kong pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Killmaz back to the cage. Kong follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Killmaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kong drops his hands momentarily and Killmaz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Killmaz with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Kong waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Killmaz. Killmaz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kong jabs Killmaz to the body, keeping him at a distance. A swing and a miss from Killmaz. No joy there for Kong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Killmaz sets himself, and Kong steps forward looking for the clinch! Killmaz avoids it this time. Kong has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Killmaz. Kong works over Killmaz's head and body with a nice combination. A big right from Killmaz misses. Killmaz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kong doesn't seem bothered though. Kong connects with a body shot. Killmaz looks to land a right hand but Kong moved out of range. Kong shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Killmaz eats them both and turns towards Kong to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Kong sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Kong looks winded! Kong ducks right into an uppercut from Killmaz. Kong lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Killmaz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Killmaz throws a hook to the side of Kong's head but Kong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kong scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Kong misses with the combination.

Kong seems to have recovered his senses. Kong lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Killmaz sends Kong crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Killmaz is motioning to the referee to let Kong up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

I was talking to Hallick's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Nice body punch from Hallick - that landed with a thud.
Yamato is breathing heavily. A quick uppercut on the inside from Hallick. A short left from Hallick. Hallick's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result. Yamato wants to break the clinch but can't.

Yamato has had enough of the clinch but Hallick keeps him there for the moment. Hallick's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
