The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Socrates throws a hook but Yanenko avoids it easily. Yanenko dives in and scores a takedown into Socrates's guard. Yanenko trying to control but Socrates is working from the bottom. Yanenko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Socrates wants to stand but Yanenko is controlling the position. Yanenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yanenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Socrates wants to stand and escape but Yanenko is having none of it. We've been hearing that Yanenko has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Yanenko advances position into side control! Yanenko is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Socrates's shoulder. That is not cool. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yanenko is trying to land an Americana. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Naruhodo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Robillard can pounce on him.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Robillard is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Robillard connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Naruhodo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Robillard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Naruhodo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Naruhodo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Robillard lands a nice leg kick that just misses Naruhodo's sensitive parts. Robillard doesn't manage to clinch there - Naruhodo circles away.

Naruhodo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Robillard is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Robillard is trying to buck Naruhodo off. Naruhodo works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Robillard avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Naruhodo. Robillard is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Naruhodo is controlling him well.

Yanar misses with a leg kick and Raly counters with a straight right hand. Yanar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kendo Yanar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yanar pushes Raly up against the cage in a clinch.

Raly appears to be looking for a big counter. Raly moves out of range as Yanar strikes. A combination from Raly does no damage. And Yanar tries to counter it with a takedown but Raly pushes his down on his head and steps out. Raly staying out of range there. An attempted straight right counter from Raly misses the target. Yanar throws a looping overhand right but Raly ducks down to avoid it. Yanar moves into the clinch successfully.

Yanar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Raly was well out of range. Poor timing from Yanar. Yanar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Raly's waist but Raly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yanar off to one side. Yanar uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Raly lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Yanar moves forwards but Raly connects with a nice, crisp jab. Yanar moves out of range as Raly strikes. Raly connects with the punch. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Raly lands a jab. Yanar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Yanar is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Raly fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Yanar looks to land a right hand but Raly moved out of range. Raly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Yanar can do to turn this around? Raly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Raly keeps Yanar at a distance using the push kick. Yanar has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Yanar is trying desperately to land a takedown but Raly is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Yanar. Yanar on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Yanar stalks Raly and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Raly's face. Raly staggers backwards, shaken. Raly lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Raly. Raly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Raly went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Raly throws a head kick that half lands.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Raly connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Raly slips under a jab. Raly feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Yanar's calf. Raly takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Raly counters with a nice uppercut. Yanar has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Raly. Yanar moves in looking to clinch but Raly pushes him off. Raly fires out a quick counter leg kick but Yanar just manages to avoid it. Raly catches Yanar with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Yanar forces Raly back against the cage and clinches. Yanar misses with a hook to the ribs.

Raly turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Raly connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Raly slips a jab and a cross from Yanar.

Yanar looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Raly lands with a hook. Yanar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Yanar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Raly throws a one two combo.
Raly slips a straight right by Yanar. Raly went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. A looping hook to the body misses from Yanar. Raly does a little dance to reset his feet. Raly misses with a head kick.

Raly scores with a punch to the head. Yanar lands with a good body shot. Raly swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Yanar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kendo Yanar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yanar misses with a looping left. Raly swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Raly connects with a solid leg kick. Decent striking displayed by Raly there. Yanar swings for the body but Raly moves out of range.

Raly with a jab. A slapping body kick lands there for Raly. Yanar throws a right hand that Raly ducks under and follows up with a left that Raly also avoids with ease. A punch lands to the side of Yanar 's head but he takes it in his stride. Raly slips a jab from Yanar. The crowd cheers as Raly lands an impressive looking overhand right. Yanar doesn't seem phased though. Good standup being displayed there by Raly as he connects with a hook. Yanar with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Raly to score with a decent uppercut. Raly fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yanar. Raly throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Raly catches Yanar right on the button with a cross. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Raly throws a nice inside leg kick. Raly bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Dory Raly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Raly lands a nice looking kick to the body. Yanar takes a step back to recover. Raly thows a body kick. Yanar tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Yanar walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Raly checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Raly connects with a nice looking jab.

Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Breneman throws a low kick but Jones avoids it. Breneman misses with a wild body shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Breneman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clyde Jones. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Breneman takes the fight into the clinch. Breneman is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Haas does no damage. Golden slips under a jab. Haas throws a leg kick but Golden moved away. Golden was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. That kick from Haas tenderised Golden's leg. Golden is trying to keep his angry face on. A leg kick checked by Golden. It looked like Golden was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Haas. Haas walks into a left hand. Haas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Haas stops Golden from standing up. Golden wriggles free and stands up.

I was talking to Golden's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A battle for position here, against the cage. Degrizz takes a body punch but keeps moving. Rei is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Degrizz can do to turn this around? Rei lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
