Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Hail To The King. Maudsley is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Irigy HónaljMirigy - Irigy Oszkármirigy (Titanic song parody in Hungarian). Robert Maudsley told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams scores with a nice head shot. Robert Maudsley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams closes the distance and clinches. Williams keeps control of Maudsley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Maudsley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Williams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maudsley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Williams had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Maudsley misses with a straight right. Williams throws a jab when Maudsley was well out of range. Esqueda is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Chabala is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Esqueda cracks Chabala with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Chabala manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. Chabala is looking for a sweep. Esqueda is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Esqueda is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chabala is refusing to be controlled, as Esqueda sits in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Esqueda working over Chabala with some ground and pound. Chabala looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
