3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jarvis Avalon! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Good work by Avalon as he checks the leg kick. Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Rua forces Avalon back against the cage and clinches. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Rua stalling against the cage.
Avalon working some nice short punches in the clinch. A body shot lands from Avalon.

Rua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rua gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Avalon. Avalon throws a leg kick which misses Rua's front leg but catches the back leg as Rua tries to avoid it. The fight moves into the clinch position. Nice body punch from Avalon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Avalon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rua's efforts to push away. Avalon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Avalon ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Avalon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rua manages to avoid it. Rua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Avalon to score with a decent uppercut. Avalon throws a sloppy head kick and Rua moves out of range easily. Avalon lands a jab to the nose. Jarvis Avalon seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rua moves into the clinch. Avalon breaks from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avalon feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ruas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Rua wants to clinch and Avalon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rua wants to control but Avalon is keeping busy and won't allow it. Avalon thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
Avalon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rua has one foot on Avalon's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Rua tries a head kick but it misses.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dicko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dunham feinted there with a counter leg kick. Dicko has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dunham is landing a low percentage of strikes. Dicko moves out of range of the body kick from Dunham.
Dicko works over Dunham's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Jeremy Dunham has been cut. Dunham throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dicko sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dicko checks a low kick from Dunham. Dunham misses with a body kick. Dunham swings widly with a right hand
and Dicko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dicko jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dunham throws a shot from downtown. Dicko moves away and avoids it. Dunham turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Dunham throws a leg kick but Dicko checks it. Dunham throws out a leg kick but Dicko moves out of range and Dunham only half commits. Dicko pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dicko checks a leg kick. Dicko changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Dicko misses with a looping right. Dunham quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Chico Dicko decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Smith throws a leg kick that is checked and Gun counters with a stiff right hand. Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gun. Gun swings away with an uppercut that misses.

I was talking to Smith's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Gun lands a shoulder strike. Gun breaks from the clinch.

That did some damage! Blaine is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Henry Blaine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Blaine's head backwards. Nice defenses there by Hughes. A telegraphed right hand from Blaine misses the target. Hughes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Blaine stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Blaine misses with a left hand and Hughes counters with a nice body shot. Blaine throws a series of punches but Hughes moves out of range. Hughes lands a jab to the head.
Hughes fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Blaine. Hughes closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Blaine! Hughes dives in looking to finish! Blaine is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos drops his hands momentarily and De Struicao takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. De Struicao cracks Santos with a good jab. De Struicao finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Santos replies with a solid counter kick to the body but De Struicao blocks it well. De Struicao throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
