Machado comes to the cage accompanied by Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes. We've been told by Newmark's head coaches at Fighting Fitness & Freedom that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Djurdjevic blocks a low kick nicely. Djurdjevic walks into a stiff left hand from Newmark. Djurdjevic throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Djurdjevic's coach down at X Training Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Djurdjevic's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Definitely one for his highlight reel! If he ever decides to rob a bank and run off to Morocco, that moment is defintely worthy of a tacky mural!

Barnes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Logic takes a jab right on the kisser.
Barnes loads up on a big right hand but Logic slips the punch. A little feinted left hand from Logic on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Logic lands a leg kick that knocks Barnes off balance momentarily. Logic throws a body punch but Barnes moves out of range. Logic takes a solid shot to the body. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Marsh keeping moving, preventing Rubey from controlling successfully. Marsh has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at GTi 888. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Rubey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rubey wants to pass the guard but Marsh is keeping the position. Rubey prevents Marsh from getting back to his feet. Marsh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Marsh is trying to control the position but Rubey postures up. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hume works his way back into a safe position though. Neely has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hume can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Neely is looking for a triangle but Hume pushes his legs off easily.

Neely looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hume sends Neely crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hume is motioning to the referee to let Neely up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The cut above Jack Neely's eye is starting to cause him problems now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hume thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Neely if he has to take too many more of those.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avitan misses with an uppercut. Murkula thumps Avitan with a low kick. Murkula scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Avitan delivers a nice body kick. Murkula ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. An inside leg kick lands from Avitan. Murkula throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Murkula swings for the body but Avitan moves out of range.
Avitan moves out of range as Murkula strikes. Avitan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Murkula to score with a decent uppercut. Murkula throws a hook to the side of Avitan's head but Avitan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Murkula tries to score with a low kick but Avitan moves his leg out of the way. Murkula misses with a looping right. Murkula comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Taisto Murkula comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Murkula has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Connemara was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Connemara stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken. Jones swings widly with a right hand
and Connemara connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Connemara avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Nice body kick from Connemara. Connemara moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Connemara dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jones lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Connemara has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Connemara and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Connemara tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connemara scoring well with a low kick there.
Connemara lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Connemara wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jones walks forward, straight into a front kick from Connemara. Connemara jabs Jones to the body, keeping him at a distance. Jones scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jones moves out of range of the body kick. Connemara tries to clinch but Jones moves away and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body. Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Connemara tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Jones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Jones misses with a shot to the body letting Connemara counter with a right hand. Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Connemara was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. Connemara keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
