Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hakim Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sydney Fields! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fields scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Richards dives in and grabs Fields's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fields pushes down on Richards's head and hops out. Richards shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fields as he avoids it easily. Richards closes the distance and clinches up with Fields, looking for a takedown. Richards pushes Fields against the ropes but Fields circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hakim Richards. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fields stuffs the takedown attempt from Richards. Richards gets slowly back to his feet. Fields tries to bum rush Richards with a series of wild strikes but Richards uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fields stuffs the takedown. Richards is breathing heavily. Richards tries to keep at a distance but Fields has taken the fight into the clinch. Richards misses with a hook from the clinch. Fields wants the takedown. Richards is fighting it off but Fields persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Richards's guard against the ropes. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fields accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Fields decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Fields throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Richards was covering up waiting for the punch and Fields finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fields scoring with punches to the head and body. Fields stands up and waves to Richards to follow him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Richards shoots and misses so Fields counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Fields scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fields trying to control the position from guard on top but Richards is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fields stands and steps away. Richards gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Richards fails with the takedown and Fields counters with a shoot takedown. Richards fights it but they end up in guard. Fields is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Fields wants to control from the top but Richards keeps moving. Fields stands and steps away. Richards gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Richards with a poor takedown and Fields holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Fields is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Richards can't fight it off and eventually Fields manages to take the fight to the floor. Richards looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fields gets to his feet - Richards follows without any prompting. Fields scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Fields tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fields has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richards is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Richards is looking to improve his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fields in particular looking to stall. Fields is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Richards is looking for a sweep. Fields is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Richards is trying to stand up here but Fields is controlling him well. Richards tries to get to full guard but Fields has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sydney Fields dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Richards gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fields thows a big elbow that misses. Richards wants to improve his position but instead Fields has moved into half guard.
Fields decides to return to a standing position. Richards misses with a takedown and Fields counters with a leg kick. Richards gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fields decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Richards, up you get! Fields closes the distance and clinches. A left hand lands to the body for Fields.
Richards tries to work over Fields's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fields takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Richards fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Richards is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fields stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Richards to get to his feet. Fields lands a nice looking body shot.
Fields shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Richards manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fields with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Fields landing some decent shots from guard. Fields trying to control the position from guard on top but Richards is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fields with a nice head shot there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Richards misses with a takedown and Fields counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fields. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Richards throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Fields escapes and throws Richards's legs to the side, diving into side control! Fields has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Fields lands a decent elbow from side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fields lands a nice forearm strike. Richards takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Fields decides to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sydney Fields showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Richards takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Richards is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Fields has hold of Richards's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Richards manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Fields works his way back into a safe position though. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards defending well as Vega loads up on a big left hand. Vega throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Richards rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vega moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Vega throws a head kick but Richards moves out of range.
Richards misses the shot to the body. Richards drops Vega with a beautiful combination! Vega stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Richards is looking for the KO!
It looks like Ronald Vega has been cut. Richards moves out of range as Vega throws a body kick.
Vega checks a leg kick. Vega checks a leg kick. Vega connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Richards grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Vega takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Richards cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

A right-left combo lands from Clarke. Clarke connects with a solid leg kick. Clarke cracks Rosalando with an open hand slap. Nice uppercut lands for Clarke. That snapped Rosalando's head back.

Clarke fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rosalando on the side of the head. Donk. Clarke catches Rosalando right on the button with a cross. Clarke lands a two punch combo.
Rosalando is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Good standup being displayed there by Clarke as he connects with a hook. Rosalando is still on wobbly legs! Can Clarke finish him? Clarke drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Rosalando right on the button. Rosalando goes down! Clarke follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Clarke gets the win via TKO!
