Berzevaco kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hanna Ekola - Villihevosia. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

We're back to striking at a distance. Berzevaco fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bolas. Berzevaco lands a big head kick that sends Bolas to the canvas! Berzevaco follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Brown comes into the arena with TNT by AC DC blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Senko's choice of entrance music: will.i.am T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever) . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown stuns Senko with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Aigars Senko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Senko smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Brown missing with a left hand there. Senko was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Senko takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Brown closes this distance looking for a takedown but Senko circles away. Brown takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Senko misses with a looping right. Senko missing with a left hand there. Brown was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A quick step to the side and Brown tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Brown tries to clinch but Senko is having none of it. And Senko tries to counter it with a takedown but Brown pushes his down on his head and steps out. Senko misses the jab. It looks like Tony Brown has been cut. Senko digs a right hand underneath Brown's ribcage. Brown let out a lung full of air as it connected. Senko lands a hook that snaps the head of Brown backwards. Senko lands a left hand that snaps the head of Brown backwards. A nice right hand lands inside from Senko. A head punch on the inside from Brown fails to land. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Senko blocking some punches.

Senko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Senko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Brown keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Senko. A cross from Senko lands. Senko digs a good hook to Brown's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Senko bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brown's head backwards. This has been an exciting period of action! Brown takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Senko throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brown stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Senko tries to clinch there but Brown circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Brown. Brown shoots in but no luck this time. Senko lands the left hand. Brown misses with a takedown attempt - Senko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Brown is breathing heavily. Senko slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brown takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Senko defends well and Brown ends up having to push Senko into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Senko lands a nice looking body shot.

I was talking to Brown's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Senko has been the more effective fighter overall so far. It looked like Lil III was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Pena. Lil III fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Javier Pena has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pena swings for the body but Lil III moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ba Lil III. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lil III, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mercer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aoki. Aoki appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Mercer pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Aoki back to the cage. Mercer follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Tatsuya Aoki has been cut. Aoki scores with a takedown into Mercer's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Aoki is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Aoki throws a strike but Mercer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Aoki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mercer defends well. Mercer stopping the sweep attempt from Aoki. Mercer wants to pass the guard but Aoki is keeping the position. Aoki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Martin Riggs decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
