11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcin Sokol! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ash moves out of range of the leg kick from Sokol. Nice straight punches there by Ash. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ash. Sokol looks to score with a jab to the body but Ash is just out of range. Ash looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Ash digs a good hook to Sokol's body.
Ash shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sokol sprawls well. Sokol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ash gets slowly back to his feet. Sokol uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ash. Ash loads up on a big right hand but Sokol slips the punch. Sokol throws out a loose jab but Ash uses good head movement to avoid it. A swing and a miss from Sokol. Ash misses with a hook. Sokol ducked under it nicely. Sokol throws a body kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Adam Ash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice straight punches there by Sokol. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sokol. A left and a right from Sokol both land. Nice combination. Ash lands with an overhand left. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ash cracks a nice hook into Sokol's ribs. Good work by Ash as he checks the leg kick. Ash takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Sokol jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sokol swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sokol throws a shot from downtown. Ash moves away and avoids it. Sokol moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Ash will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ash misses with a hook. Sokol ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ash moves away. As Sokol tries to get set, Ash tries to push him back and clinch up but Sokol manages to avoid the attempt. Ash fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A swing and a miss from Ash. Sokol swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

A little jabbing left from Sokol on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ash thuds his right hand into Sokol's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Sokol cracks Ash with a good jab. Ash dodges the punch combination from Sokol.

Ash drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sokol has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ash has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ash pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A looping hook to the body misses from Sokol. Ash does a little dance to reset his feet. Ash throws a right and a left that both miss. Ash misses with a hook. Sokol ducked under it nicely.

Good work by Ash as he checks the leg kick. Sokol throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ash sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ash scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ash is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sokol has escaped the position, nice work there. Ash wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sokol keeps working. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sokol manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ash's best efforts. Ash trying to pass the guard but Sokol defending well. Sokol is doing well to control the position and prevent Ash from advancing to side control.

Ash missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ash is nestled in close to Sokol, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ash not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Sokol taking some punishment here, with Ash in his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ash connects with a nice short shot to Sokol's temple. Ash thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ash landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sokol wants to improve his position but Ash is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ash sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sokol's guard. Sokol keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ash thows a huge punch but Sokol dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ash looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sokol with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ash missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ash is pressing down on Sokol's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sokol is holding on for now. Sokol is looking to improve his position.
Ash seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sokol does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sokol has hold of Ash's hands but Ash slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ash throws a low kick but Sokol avoids it. Sokol thinks about the counter body kick. Ash throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Ash darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Sokol lands with a kick to the ribs.

Ash takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Ash throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sokol escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A little jabbing left from Sokol on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Ash pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sokol is out of range and Ash settles back down. Ash tries to close the distance and clinch but Sokol swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sokol is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ash cracks Sokol with a right hand to the side of the head. Sokol pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sokol connects with a leg kick. Ash looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Ash misses with a few strikes there.

Beast lands with a cross. Beast moves away from the strike by Ping Pong. Beast appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Ping Pong shoots in and bounces Beast off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ping Pong is looking to work some ground and pound but Beast has wrist control. Ping Pong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Beast is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Ping Pong is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Beast controlling the position from side mount. You can see the frustration on Ping Pong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Beast avoids the strikes from the bottom by Ping Pong. Ping Pong tries to bench press Beast off him but Beast keeps the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Billy Beast showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beast, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bjorn Helgi. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Helgi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
