1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tugg Speedman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Tanner! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Speedman pushes Tanner up against the cage in a clinch. Tanner tries to work over Speedman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Tanner misses with a short punch on the inside. Tanner goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Speedman. I was talking to Speedman's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A head punch on the inside from Speedman fails to land. We've been informed that Tanner has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Tanner misses with the head strike.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Tanner wants to break free but Speedman has control.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Speedman creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Speedman fails to land. Speedman can't find room to land a body shot as Tanner controls the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tanner thuds his shin into the meat of Speedman's side. Speedman takes a swing at Tanner's ribcage but misses. Speedman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tanner. Tanner obviously looking to wear him down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Speedman has taken the fight to the clinch.

Tanner fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Speedman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Speedman dives in and grabs Tanner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanner pushes down on Speedman's head and hops out. Tanner shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Tanner throws a quick inside leg kick. Speedman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Tugg Speedman has been cut. Tanner will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Speedman is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Tanner misses with a kick to the body and Speedman counters with a nice body kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tanner moves out of range of the body kick. Speedman blocks a low kick nicely. Tanner tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Speedman is able to avoid easily. Tanner looks to land a body kick but Speedman moved away. Speedman blocks the body kick.

Speedman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tanner feints a counter leg kick. A thudding body kick lands there by Tanner!
Speedman jabbing away but nothing is landing. A low kick from Tanner is predictable there and Speedman counters with a body kick that stops Tanner in his tracks momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Speedman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tanner pinned against the cage. Tanner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tanner dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Speedman. That did some damage! Jason Tanner seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tanner swings away with a leg kick that misses. Speedman lands a nice hook to Tanner's body. Tanner takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Speedman throws a leg kick and Tanner finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Tanner throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Speedman's head. Tanner throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Speedman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Speedman pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Tanner back to the cage. Speedman follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tanner throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Tanner. Speedman shrugs it off though. Speedman misses with a hook. Tanner ducked under it nicely. Tanner throws a leg kick but Speedman checks it. Speedman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tanner's waist but Tanner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Speedman off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tugg Speedman. That's going to take a lot out of him. A lazy body kick from Tanner and Speedman counters with an outside leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jong Guk creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Cooper doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Jong Guk thows a body kick. Cooper tries to catch it but that hurt him. The fighters circling - Cooper throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jong Guk half committed to a counter leg kick. Jong Guk takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jong Guk shoots and misses and Cooper counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Cooper ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jong Guk moves away. Jong Guk throws a sloppy head kick and Cooper moves out of range easily. Cooper throws out a counter right but Jong Guk avoids it with no problem. Cooper misses with a body shot.

Cooper gets off balance looking for a body kick and Jong Guk counters with a single leg into guard. Cooper didn't expect that. Jong Guk wants to stand and escape but instead Cooper has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Cooper sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jong Guk looking to control.
Jong Guk is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cooper is aware though and is defending well. Jong Guk keeping moving, preventing Cooper from controlling successfully. Jong Guk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cooper is controlling him. Jong Guk is looking to stand back up but Cooper counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jong Guk.

Kim Jong Guk is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cooper is looking to take a break and control but Jong Guk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vincent Cooper has got the better of the ground game so far. You can see the frustration on Jong Guk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cooper working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Cooper tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jong Guk prevents Cooper from improving position. Jong Guk is trying to get back to his feet. Jong Guk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cooper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cooper happy to just control the position for now. Jong Guk tries to buck Cooper off but Cooper is having none of it. Jong Guk is working hard here to advance position. Cooper working the head with strikes. Jong Guk is looking to reverse the position. Cooper trying to control the action but Jong Guk is working from the bottom. Cooper moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Lette is rocked! Smith lands with a punch from half guard. Oh Lette is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Smith lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Lette quite badly. Lette pulls Smith in close trying to recover. Smith postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Lette on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Lette doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James moves into range and clinches up with Perfo. James will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Perfo up against the cage. James lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
James is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Perfo is just riding it out for now. James eventually gives up the hold. James works his way into full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James has hold of Perfo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Perfo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

James wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. James fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Perfo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Perfo, right into the meat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasara fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kane manages to avoid it. Vasara looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kane pushes Vasara up against the cage in a clinch. Kane fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vasara effectively controlling the action here. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kane takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Vasara lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Vasara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kane throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vasara. Kane sizes up Vasara with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kane uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vasara.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vasara regains full guard. Nicely done. Vasara controls Kane momentarily but Kane frees himself. Kane wants to pass the guard but Vasara is keeping the position. Vasara bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kane's guard.
Kane has his foot on Vasara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vasara works his way back into a safe position though. Kane striking off his back but it's not causing Vasara any problems. Vasara controls from within his opponent's guard. Vasara is posturing up here but Kane has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Vasara tries to roll out but it's too tight and Vasara has to tap! Slick submission there by Kane!

Sam Wilson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world.
