8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Dagur Egilsson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Egilsson avoids it really well and circles away. Aldo walks forward, straight into a front kick from Egilsson. Aldo misses with a takedown attempt and Egilsson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Aldo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Egilsson - the referee stops the clock and Aldo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Egilsson. Aldo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Egilsson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A chopping leg kick lands by Egilsson. Egilsson scores with a head kick. Aldo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Aldo fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimi Aldo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aldo is breathing heavily. Aldo shoots in looking for a takedown. Egilsson tries to sprawl out of it but Aldo keeps driving through. Aldo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Egilsson can pounce on him.

Egilsson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Aldo is landing a low percentage of strikes. Egilsson scores with a hook to the body. Aldo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Egilsson counters with a three punch combo that has Aldo backing up. Aldo nods at Egilsson to acknowledge the strikes. Oh Aldo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A good leg kick by Egilsson. Aldo dives in for a single leg takedown but Egilsson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Egilsson lands a two punch combo.

Pinn catches Melendez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Wally Pinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Melendez tries a low kick but Pinn avoids it. Melendez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pinn connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Melendez is rocked! Pinn slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Melendez is still on wobbly legs! Can Pinn finish him? Pinn misses the jab. Melendez ducks right into an uppercut from Pinn. Pinn drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Melendez's head, knocking him out cold! Pinn is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Prime throws a hook to the side of Cage's head but Cage sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Prime waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cage. Cage fires out a quick counter leg kick but Prime just manages to avoid it. Prime swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cage blocks a jab. Prime connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Johnny Cage has been cut. A jab from Prime misses. Cage throws a chopping leg kick but Prime manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Prime throws a shot from downtown. Cage moves away and avoids it. Prime throws out a loose jab but Cage uses good head movement to avoid it. Prime throws a body punch but Cage moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cage uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Prime. Cage throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Prime. Donk. Prime catches Cage right on the button with a cross. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A good leg kick by Cage. Prime looks to score with a jab to the body but Cage is just out of range. Prime avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Prime might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Cage throws a leg kick which misses Prime's front leg but catches the back leg as Prime tries to avoid it. Prime blocks a head kick by Cage.
Cage moves in looking to clinch but Prime pushes him off. Jab, jab by Prime - just one landing. Cage waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Prime. Johnny Cage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cage slips under a jab from Prime. Prime takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Prime misses with a hook. Cage stalks Prime and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Prime's face. Prime staggers backwards, shaken. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Prime throws a hook to the side of Cage's head but Cage sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cage misses with a low kick.
Prime lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Cage throws a head kick that misses. Prime swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Cage uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Prime. Prime throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cage tries a head kick but it misses.

Johnny Cage's cut is getting worse. Cage gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Prime.
Cage is rocked! Cage shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Prime throws a hook to the side of Cage's head but Cage sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The fight stays on the outside here - Cage looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cage loses concentration momentarily and Prime pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Cage crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Prime finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Murphy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ruden, pushing him back against the cage. Ruden doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Murphy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ruden can do to turn this around? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ruden gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Ruden lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Murphy throws an overhand right that lands on Ruden's shoulder, as Ruden tries to avoid the shot. Ruden lands with a cross. Ruden throws a leg kick that is checked and Murphy counters with a nice leg kick. Murphy blocks a head kick by Ruden.

We've been hearing good reports from Lewis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Lewis is trying to control. Stolt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dzingis Han is trying to control but can't.
