Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donald McTavish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Connor MacManus! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McTavish throws a lazy right hand but MacManus sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. MacManus thumps McTavish with a low kick. MacManus looks to throw the jab but McTavish is out of range. MacManus takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. MacManus swings widly with a right hand
and McTavish counters with a lovely straight right hand! MacManus scores with a hook to the body. McTavish takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. McTavish seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. MacManus throws a sloppy head kick and McTavish counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps MacManus thinking. MacManus misses with a lunging right hand
and McTavish counters with a straight punch to the midsection. MacManus stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. MacManus throws a body punch but McTavish moves out of range. McTavish is looking to counter punch. McTavish has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McTavish there as he acknowledges the shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McTavish misses with a left hand and MacManus counters with a lovely straight right hand! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that MacManus has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacManus thows a leg kick but McTavish checks it and McTavish connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. McTavish takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. McTavish throws a jab but it's blocked by MacManus. A left lands for MacManus. MacManus dips down and scores with a jab to the body. MacManus throws an off balance right hand
and McTavish counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. McTavish throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McTavish walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. MacManus connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. McTavish misses with a looping left. MacManus with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Connor MacManus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. MacManus thuds his right hand into McTavish's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. MacManus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. MacManus waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McTavish. McTavish has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from MacManus. McTavish rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but MacManus moves out of range and avoids them all easily. MacManus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

MacManus is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McTavish had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

McTavish misses with a left hand and MacManus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. McTavish misses with a wild body shot. MacManus drives through and clinches with McTavish against the cage.

The fighters circling - McTavish throws out the jab but it was never going to land. MacManus steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. MacManus punishes McTavish's body with a nice straight punch. The crowd cheers as MacManus lands an impressive looking overhand right. McTavish doesn't seem phased though. A nice leg kick lands there from MacManus. MacManus scores with a spinning back kick! MacManus looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. MacManus waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McTavish. Connor MacManus seems to be getting the better of the standup. MacManus looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
McTavish is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

MacManus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A punch lands to the side of McTavish 's head but he takes it in his stride. MacManus jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

MacManus fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McTavish. MacManus throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. And that's the end of the fight! Connor MacManus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well MacManus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Juan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

After the fight, Gerard Esqueda was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. 21 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Asa Sharp! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharp lands with a shot to the body. We've been informed that Sharp has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Schtrappe moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Sharp moves out of range of the body kick from Schtrappe.
Schtrappe lands a nice shot that snaps Sharp's head back.

Schtrappe throws an overhand right that lands on Sharp's shoulder, as Sharp tries to avoid the shot. Sharp tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Sharp lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Schtrappe at a distance.
Sharp is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Schtrappe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Schtrappe blocks a jab. Schtrappe throws a quick inside leg kick. Nice uppercut there from Sharp.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schtrappe paws at him with a jab and circles away. Schtrappe gets in close and instigates a clinch. Schtrappe lands a nice uppercut. Sharp gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sharp winds up and cracks Schtrappe with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Schtrappe tries to roll over but Sharp keeps him under control. Sharp not landing any meaningful shots this time. Schtrappe is not content to let Sharp control the position. Schtrappe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Schtrappe is trying to get back to full guard. Sharp wants to pass the guard but Schtrappe is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schtrappe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sharp is working away from the top position though. Sharp is working for a submission of some sort.
Sharp stalling away here and it's allowed Schtrappe to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Sharp postures up in Schtrappe's guard and throws a big left but Schtrappe blocks it. Sharp is looking to work some ground and pound but Schtrappe has wrist control. Sharp wants to control from the top but Schtrappe keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sharp looking to pass the guard. Sharp loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sharp throws a big right hand that misses. Sharp wants to control from the top but Schtrappe keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Sharp postures up in Schtrappe's guard and throws a big left but Schtrappe blocks it. Schtrappe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sharp moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Schtrappe finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Asa Sharp dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Schtrappe wants to clinch and Sharp counters with a shoot takedown. Schtrappe fights it but they end up in guard. Sharp with a nice head shot there. Sharp postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sharp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schtrappe pulls Sharp in to control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sharp postures up in Schtrappe's guard and throws a big left but Schtrappe blocks it. Schtrappe avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Sharp trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sharp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schtrappe keeping moving, preventing Sharp from controlling successfully. Sharp cracks Schtrappe with a solid left hand. Sharp trying to control but Schtrappe is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sharp lands a couple of digs. Asa Sharp has got the better of the ground game so far. Schtrappe looking to control.
Sharp advances position into side control! Sharp creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Schtrappe sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Sharp landing a few strikes. Sharp trying to control the position but Schtrappe is working away. Sharp thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sharp remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sharp wants to sweep here but Schtrappe controlling him for the moment.

Sharp connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Schtrappe moves away from the strike by Sharp. Sharp bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sharp has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Schtrappe scores with a jab. Schtrappe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sharp, pushing him back against the cage. Sharp lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schtrappe gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sharp.

Sharp has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Schtrappe after a bit of a struggle. Bach Schtrappe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Asa Sharp. Sharp changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Schtrappe fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sharp with a lazy takedown attempt and Schtrappe counters with an inside leg kick. Sharp checks a leg kick. Jab, jab by Sharp - just one landing. Sharp swings for the body but Schtrappe moves out of range.
Schtrappe throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Sharp blocks a jab. Schtrappe circles away from the clinch attempt and Schtrappe counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharp scores with a jab. Sharp misses the jab. An attempted straight right counter from Schtrappe misses the target. A big left from Schtrappe misses. Sharp stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Schtrappe. Schtrappe gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sharp misses with an uppercut. Schtrappe saw that one coming. The fighters circling - Sharp throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schtrappe avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Sharp. Schtrappe does a little dance to reset his feet. Sharp throws a nice looking combination but Schtrappe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bach Schtrappe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice sprawl there from Schtrappe as Sharp shoots in.

Sharp stuns Schtrappe with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Schtrappe misses with a leg kick. Sharp connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Sharp rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Schtrappe counters with a nice uppercut. Asa Sharp is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Sharp throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Schtrappe counters with a good low kick that Sharp was not able to check. Schtrappe takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Schtrappe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Schtrappe finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Schtrappe keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sharp. Sharp cracks Schtrappe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A swing and a miss from Schtrappe. Sharp with the counter takedown but Schtrappe avoids it easily. Sharp misses with a looping left. Schtrappe feinted there with a counter leg kick. Sharp throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schtrappe displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Asa Sharp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sharp fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Schtrappe throws out a loose jab but Sharp uses good head movement to avoid it. Bach Schtrappe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sharp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schtrappe moves out of range and avoids them all easily. As Sharp backs away, Schtrappe returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Asa Sharp. I've got Sharp winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Steel Penn has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Dellaria manages to break the clinch.

Dellaria tries to hold on but Steel Penn postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Greg Dellaria will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Steel Penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dellaria manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dellaria lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Steel Penn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Steel Penn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Dellaria throws a leg kick and Steel Penn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dellaria ducks under a wild hook from Steel Penn. Dellaria throws a right and a left that Steel Penn avoids nicely. Steel Penn takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
