Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shigeru Tobla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Blades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tobla comes to the cage accompanied by the red jumpsuit apparatus - face down. Brandon Blades told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blades throws a head kick that misses. Tobla misses with a low kick.
Blades thows a body kick. Tobla tries to catch it but that hurt him. Tobla misses with a head kick.
Blades darts in and clinches Tobla up against the cage. Tobla tries for a takedown. No joy.
Blades gets underhooks to prevent Tobla's takedown attempt.

Blades lands with a kick to the temple. Tobla shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Tobla closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blades circles away. Blades throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tobla's head. Tobla throws a head kick that misses. Blades misses with a head kick.
Tobla looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Blades clinches with his opponent.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Blades feints and then cracks Tobla's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tobla down. Shigeru Tobla has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brandon Blades is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Blades thows a body kick. Tobla tries to catch it but that hurt him.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lopatin uses from the top position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Parker working for a triangle but Lopatin defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Siffredi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hammer Radovan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Radovan misses with a right hand and Siffredi counters with a lovely straight right hand! Siffredi throws an overhand right that lands on Radovan's shoulder, as Radovan tries to avoid the shot. Radovan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Radovan is rocked! Siffredi has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Siffredi throws a body shot but no joy. Oh Radovan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Siffredi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Radovan looks to land a right hand but Siffredi moved out of range. Armstrong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Munoz postures up in Armstrong's guard and throws a big left but Armstrong blocks it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Munoz with a flurry of punches that miss. Armstrong is controlling Munoz's posture. Wait For It's coach down at The Bear's Den was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wait For It's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Karlsson scores with a nice strike. Wait For It is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nice uppercut there from Karlsson. This has been an exciting period of action! Wait For It misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Karlsson comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Wait For It falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Wait For It was out before he hit the floor!

After the fight, Frank Karlsson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Herminio Herculano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Machan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Machan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Machan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Herculano defends well and Machan ends up having to push Herculano into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Machan tries for a takedown but Herculano circles away easily and Herculano counters with a nice uppercut. Machan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Herculano counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Richard Machan has been cut. Machan misses with a straight left. As Machan tries to get set, Herculano tries to push him back and clinch up but Machan manages to avoid the attempt. Machan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Machan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machan is trying to get an arm triangle but Herculano is defending well. Machan scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Herculano to see if he's OK. Machan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Machan working his ground and pound in the gym. Machan in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Herculano is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rick James! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and James cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. James displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Newton. A nice side step and James releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Newton has his takedown stuffed and James counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Newton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Newton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. James keeping moving, preventing Newton from controlling successfully. Newton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Newton trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Newton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. James wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Newton is pushing down on James's leg trying to pass to half guard. James is fighting to maintain full guard but Newton has managed to sneak the leg through. James has his hands clasped together around Newton's back. He's all about the action. Newton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Newton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. James doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Newton. Newton trying to pass the guard but James defending well. Newton is working for a kimura but James is defending it quite comfortably.
James wants to improve his position but Newton is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but James sees it coming and defends easily. Newton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Newton trying to control from half guard but James is working away. Newton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed James's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Newton seems to be working for a kimura but James defends the submission attempt. Newton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Newton maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! James could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Newton has cracked it and James is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Newton!
