The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beattie slips under a jab from Mancini. Beattie feints and then cracks Mancini's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mancini down. Beattie walks into a stiff left hand from Mancini. Beattie throws a solid leg kick but Mancini takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Beattie. Beattie has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Beattie misses with an uppercut
and Mancini cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A cross from Mancini lands. Mancini seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Beattie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mancini misses with a straight left. Beattie throws the kick towards the body but Mancini avoids it. Beattie bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Beattie throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mancini stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Beattie. Mancini uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beattie. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beattie throws a sloppy head kick and Mancini moves out of range easily. That kick from Beattie tenderised Mancini's leg. Mancini is trying to keep his angry face on.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Refugee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Baird steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from The Refugee. The Refugee tries to keep at a distance but Baird has taken the fight into the clinch. The Refugee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Baird tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Baird prevents a takedown attempt there.
The Refugee has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Baird clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Baird wants to control his opponent's hands but The Refugee gets his hands free. The Refugee punches the canvas rather than the man. Baird breaks The Refugee's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Baird must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Baird wants to control from the top but The Refugee keeps moving. The Refugee is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Baird is aware though and is defending well. The Refugee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The Refugee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baird doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takada lands with a straight right. Bellafonte didn't see that one coming. Takada forces Bellafonte back against the cage and clinches. Takada misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bellafonte lands with a left to the head. Takada misses with a punch to the body.
Takada lands a nice uppercut. Takada digs a right hand underneath Bellafonte's ribcage. Bellafonte let out a lung full of air as it connected. Takada gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Takada pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Takada lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Takada makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Bellafonte jumps guard but Takada stands there with Bellafonte around his waist. Bellafonte gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Takada loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Takada controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Takada's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Takada is working Bellafonte over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bellafonte tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bellafonte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Takada.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Takada drops Bellafonte with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bellafonte looks back up at him and smiles so Takada waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Jon Bellafonte has been cut. Takada lands a brutal uppercut that launches Bellafonte off his feet! Bellafonte tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Soares throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Plisskins head. Plisskin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Soares can't fight it off and eventually Plisskin manages to take the fight to the floor. Soares looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Plisskin is stalling in the full guard. Plisskin is looking to pass into half guard but Soares pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Soares is in guard. Soares won't allow Plisskin to sweep him here. Soares looking to pass the guard. Plisskin has his hands on Soares's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
