The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernside fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Bernside bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ataman takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Ataman ducks under a wild hook from Bernside.
Donk. Bernside catches Ataman right on the button with a cross.
Ataman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ataman throws an off balance right hand
letting Bernside counter with a right hand.
Ataman throws a leg kick but Bernside moved away.

and Bernside counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ataman's knee momentarily.
Bernside fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ataman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bernside lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ataman tries to land a front kick but Bernside steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bernside.

Bernside throws a monster overhand right that drops Ataman! Bernside follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

In his post fight interview, David Bernside started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hollywood has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Hika lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Pulu crumples to the floor! Hika milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

The cut above Nicolas Muller's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Muller goes for a small jab and connects. Now Muller goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Palelei stumbles back but Muller runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Palelei to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Palelei will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
