The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sundvison moves to clinch but Stelzer breaks away and Stelzer counters with a stiff right hand. Sundvison closes the distance looking to clinch and Stelzer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sundvison's guard. Sundvison is controlling Stelzer's posture. Stelzer wants to control from the top but Sundvison keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stelzer landing with the ground and pound. Sundvison trying to keep a closed guard but Stelzer is proving a slippery customer.
Sundvison told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Sundvison thumps Stelzer with a low kick. Stelzer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sundvison finds it's way round the side to connect with Stelzer's head. Mats Sundvison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice defenses there by Sundvison. A combination from Sundvison does no damage. Stelzer lands a nice hook to Sundvison's body. Sundvison takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Sundvison tries to clinch there but Stelzer circles away.

Wolfram Stelzer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stelzer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Stelzer wants to pass the guard but Sundvison is defending well. Sundvison manages to get to full guard.
Sundvison is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fredrickson is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Shamrock - that's hurt Fredrickson badly! Oh, another knee lands and Fredrickson is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Fredrickson doesn't seem to be complaining.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creepy throws a lazy right hand but Miyata sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Creepy scores with a three punch combo!

Miyata shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Creepy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miyata lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Miyata is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Miyata working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Miyata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Creepy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Miyata controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Creepy controlling Miyata's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
