24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Arthur Bishop! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bishop shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bishop. Bishop throws a body kick that misses and Smith counters with a stiff right hand. Arthur Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Smith drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bishop sprawls and moves away. Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bishop.
Bishop throws a front kick aimed at Smith's knee but Smith avoids it well. Bishop fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it. Bishop with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Smith to score with a decent uppercut. Bishop shoots and misses and Smith counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Bishop attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Smith swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Smith scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bishop is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard. Smith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Smith wants to free his trapped foot but Bishop is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bishop keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bishop is looking to regain full guard. Smith creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bishop sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Smith scoring with punches from side control. Bishop manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Bishop tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bishop is staying active underneath Smith, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bishop avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith. Smith is keen to just control but Bishop is a slippery customer. Bishop wants to get back to full guard. Bishop wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy. Bishop misses with the ground and pound. Smith gets back to half guard. Bishop takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Smith wants to improve his position but Bishop is controlling well.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Superior has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Haigh misses with a lunging right hand
and Superior counters with a straight right hand. A slow jab from Haigh misses its intended target. Superior tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Superior uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Haigh.

It looked like Haigh was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Superior. Haigh looks to land a combination. That was a close second round but I would say that John Haigh will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Glorious Superior's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jim Beckett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. You can see the frustration on Wonha's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Beckett throws a strike aimed at the side of Wonha's head but Wonha avoids it well. Wonha is trying to get back to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Wonha avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Beckett throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Wonha crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Beckett - the referee stops the clock and Wonha gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Beckett. Wonha manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Wonha lands with a straight right. Beckett didn't see that one coming. Beckett tries a head kick but it misses.
Wonha has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Wonha moves in looking to clinch but Beckett pushes him off. Wonha uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beckett. A little jabbing left from Wonha on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Wonha scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Wonha tries to score with a low kick but Beckett moves his leg out of the way. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wonha defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Beckett. Wonha tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beckett manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wonha throws a body punch but Beckett moves out of range. Beckett half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Beckett missing with a left hand there. Wonha was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jim Beckett. I think Beckett has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Law stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Marshall Law seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dall takes a swing at Law's ribcage but misses. Dall tries to land a body kick and Law counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dall throws a body shot but no joy. Law lands a body shot.

Law throws a looping overhand right but Dall ducks down to avoid it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Law missing with a left hand there. Dall was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Law.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves misses with a right hand and Stark counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard. Stark passes Alves 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Stark seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Alves is trying to control but can't.
Alves keeping hold of Stark's head, controlling as best he can. Alves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.
