Undercard bout

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zach Leduc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TAKA Michinoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Leduc might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Spirit Never Dies. Michinoku has chosen Yamato Suite Pt. 4 as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leduc on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That was a close round but I would say that Zach Leduc will probably get the nod.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakurai feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sakurai is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yanagida is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yanagida has escaped and now he's on top!

Sakurai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd cheers as Yanagida lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sakurai doesn't seem phased though.

Sakurai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yanagida but Yanagida pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sakurai shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yanagida is trying to defend but Sakurai finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Sakurai has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yanagida finds it's way round the side to connect with Sakurai 's head.

Sakurai has his foot on Yanagida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yanagida works his way back into a safe position though.
Yanagida has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sakurai is proving hard to escape from.

Sakurai is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Yanagida is aware though and is defending well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Halaus tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Aoki avoids it.
Halaus lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Lyoto Aoki will probably get the nod.
