13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Stark! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles moves in looking to clinch but Stark pushes him off. Stark looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Charles shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stark napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sloppy strikes there by Charles. Stark is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Stark's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stark is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Stark struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stark tries to bench press Charles off him but Charles keeps the position. Charles throws an elbow but Stark slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles tries for a kimura but Stark is defending well. We've been hearing good reports from Charles's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Charles grinds an elbow into Stark's temple. Charles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stark manages to work his way to half guard, despite Charles's best efforts. Stark is staying active underneath Charles, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Charles is really struggling to control Stark but he's trying to hold on to the position. Charles is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stark is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Charles pulls his head out easily. Charles tries to pass to full mount but Stark defends it. Charles is figuring out what he wants to do next. Stark tries to roll over but Charles keeps him under control. Charles is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stark is just riding it out for now. Charles eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stark blocking the ground and pound attempt from Charles.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles throwing shots but Stark is blocking nicely. Stark looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Stark looks for the body kick but Charles saw that one coming. Charles fails in his attempt to clinch. Stark connects with a single shot there. Charles throws a lazy right hand but Stark sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Stark misses with a head kick.
Nice straight punches there by Charles. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Charles. Charles forces Stark back against the cage and clinches. Charles has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Stark is trying to keep an underhook but Charles manages to get the takedown into half guard. Charles is working for a kimura but Stark is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Charles perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Stark is trying to get back to full guard. Stark has a hand on Charles's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Charles takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stark tries to reverse the position but Charles maintains control. Stark in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stark working to try and regain half guard.

Danny Charles dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Stark lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Charles has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Charles and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. A momentary lapse in concentration from Stark enables Charles to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stark manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Charles preventing the sweep. Charles cracks Stark with a solid left hand. Charles preventing the sweep. Stark manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Charles manages to get himself to full guard.
Charles wants to sweep but no luck. Charles being controlled here, momentarily. Charles is looking for a triangle but Stark pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stark scoring with punches to the head and body. Stark controlling from the top position. Danny Charles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles keeping moving, preventing Stark from controlling successfully. Charles has his hands on Stark's head, controlling the position. Stark trying to control but Charles is working from the bottom. Stark drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Charles manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stark has Charles in his guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Charles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Stark has his hands on Charles's head, controlling the position. Charles trying to control the position from guard on top but Stark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stark has control of Charles's left arm, preventing Charles from doing any damage. Stark is trying to keep Charles in close.
Charles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stark swivels though and keeps the full guard. Stark is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Charles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stark throws a quick inside leg kick. Stark throws a chopping leg kick but Charles manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Charles gets a double leg takedown into Stark's guard. Charles being controlled here momentarily. Charles drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stark looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stark looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stark!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stark working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Stark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Charles keeps working. Charles is looking to regain half guard here but Stark keeps moving and retains side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stark is trying to get an arm triangle but Charles is defending well. Stark working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Danny Charles will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Charles drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stark sprawls and moves away. Charles wants to clinch. Charles throws a nice inside leg kick. A punch combination from Charles misses. Charles feints and as Stark raises his hands in defense, Charles changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Charles got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stark has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Charles has managed to get both his arms back between Stark's legs - danger averted. Stark is trying to control the position but Charles postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stark wants to sweep but no luck. Charles loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Charles is in close to Stark's body, working some short punches and elbows. Stark is trying to control the position but Charles postures up. Charles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stark swivels though and keeps the full guard. Stark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Charles is one step ahead there. Stark is trying to control the position but Charles postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Charles trying to control but Stark is working from the bottom. Stark has momentary wrist control but Charles slips an elbow through the middle. Brandon Stark has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stark lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Stark preventing the sweep. Stark wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving. Stark preventing the sweep. Stark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Charles controlling the position. Charles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stark works over Charles with some ground and pound from guard. Charles preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Charles is trying to control the position but Stark postures up. Stark trying to control the position from guard on top but Charles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Charles is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stark can do to turn this around?
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Charles scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Stark fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Charles manages to avoid it. Charles throws a shot from downtown. Stark moves away and avoids it. Stark lands with an overhand left. Charles looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Stark! Danny Charles is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stark is trying to improve his position. Charles is looking to take a break and control but Stark is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stark dodges the ground and pound from Charles.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Danny Charles. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Charles, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. MacAuliffe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

It looks like Frank Lopez has been cut. Ironfist throws a head kick that misses. It looked like Lopez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ironfist swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ironfist throws a sloppy head kick and Lopez moves out of range easily. Ironfist throws a nice looking combination but Lopez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lopez scores with a jab to the jaw. Lopez misses with a wild body shot. Ironfist misses with a combination
and Lopez counters with a nice uppercut. A head kick misses from Ironfist. Lopez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Lopez dodges the punch combination from Ironfist.
Ironfist looks to land a combination but Lopez avoids it well. Lopez throws a counter high kick but Ironfist was just alert enough to avoid it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ironfist takes a shot right to the bread basket. No joy there for Ironfist, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lopez. Ironfist shrugs it off though. Lopez drops his hands momentarily and Ironfist takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A combination from Ironfist does no damage. Lopez swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Lopez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Lopez scores with a body shot.
Lopez lands with a nice combination. Ironfist backs away looking to recover. Ironfist tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ironfist looks winded! Ironfist feints a jab promting Lopez to slip. Ironfist then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lopez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ironfist misses with a combination
enabling Lopez to counter with a crisp jab. Lopez darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lopez, as that shot connected.
Ironfist throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lopez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Ironfist.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lopez. That's going to slow Ironfist down. Ironfist misses with a left hand enabling Lopez to counter with a crisp jab. Nice body punch from Lopez. Nice cross by Lopez.
Ironfist is rocked! Ironfist misses with a leg kick and Lopez counters with a nice leg kick. Ironfist is still on wobbly legs! Can Lopez finish him? Lopez cracks Ironfist with a hook to the temple - Ironfist is on wobbly legs here! Lopez swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Ironfist falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Lopez wins by TKO!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tavares fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Karjalainen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Karjalainen looks to score with a jab to the body but Tavares is just out of range.

and Karjalainen counters with a nice kick to the body. Karjalainen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tavares. Tavares lands a jab to the nose. Tavares slips under a jab from Karjalainen. Karjalainen avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Tavares takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Tavares moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Karjalainen drops his hands momentarily and Tavares takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Teemu Karjalainen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Karjalainen counters with a nice body kick. Tavares uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Karjalainen has time to react. Karjalainen ducks under a wild hook from Tavares. Karjalainen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Tavares works the jab nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karjalainen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Tavares throws a jab but it's blocked by Karjalainen. Karjalainen appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Karjalainen, as that shot connected.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karjalainen throws a leg kick that is checked and Tavares counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Tavares lands with a right hand. Tavares throws a leg kick but Karjalainen sees it coming and moves out of range. Karjalainen tried to counter with a leg kick but Tavares avoided it. Tavares jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A swing and a miss from Karjalainen. Karjalainen throws a body punch but Tavares moves out of range. Tavares is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Karjalainen with a body shot. Tavares scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Karjalainen doesn't seem bothered though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tavares stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Tavares scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Karjalainen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tavares. Tavares looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Tavares jabs Karjalainen right on the nose. Karjalainen blinks but takes it well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karjalainen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A counter left hand to the body from Karjalainen misses its target. Tavares lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Karjalainen at a distance.
Karjalainen throws a leg kick and Tavares counters with a lovely straight right hand! Karjalainen throws a leg kick and Tavares cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
