The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand tries to bum rush Gomez with a series of wild strikes but Gomez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rand's corner calls for a 1-2. Rand obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rand throws a head kick that misses.
Gomez tries to counter with a clinch but Rand shakes him off and moves away.
A left lands for Rand.
Rand tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gomez was well out of range. Poor timing from Rand.
Gomez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rand defends it well.
Rand walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gomez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Rand darts in and clinches Gomez up against the cage.
Rand misses with a hook from the clinch.
Gomez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rand prevents it.

Gomez is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rand throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gomez's body to avoid the submission. Gomez has instead reached around Rand's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gomez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Lovelair goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Lovelair because Martinez was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Locke comes to the cage accompanied by What Makes a Good Man. Danny Greene struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Aharon Sarkisyan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
