The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beattie takes a swing at Cudi's ribcage but misses. Beattie connects with a single shot there. Cudi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Beattie misses the jab. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zamana fails with the takedown and Gonzalez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Zamana thinking. Zamana has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gonzalez is landing a low percentage of strikes. Gonzalez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zamana. Zamana tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gonzalez paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gonzalez appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Gonzalez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Zamana with a lazy takedown attempt and Gonzalez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Nick Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafal Zamana. Zamana doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gonzalez counters with a nice body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zamana gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gonzalez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Garcia looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A little jabbing left from Takada on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Takada scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. We've been hearing reports that Garcia has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Bob uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Angel. Nice cross by Angel. Bob throws out a loose jab but Angel uses good head movement to avoid it. Angel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bob's head backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bob blocks a head kick by Angel.
Bob throws a low kick, looking for Angel's leg but Angel calmly moves out of range. A nice leg kick lands there from Angel. Bob with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Bob lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. The fighters circling - Bob throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bob chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Bob misses with a straight right. Angel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bob doesn't seem bothered though. Bob fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Angel.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Bob lands a nice leg kick that just misses Angel's sensitive parts. Bob swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bob stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Angel is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Angel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bob doesn't seem bothered though. Good work by Angel as he checks the leg kick. Bob lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Angel circles away quickly and effectively. Bob misses with a body punch
enabling Angel to counter with a crisp jab. Angel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bob moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Angel fails with an attempt to clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pink gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Berhardt wants to control from the top but Pink keeps moving. Pink will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pink avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Pink trying to keep a closed guard but Berhardt is proving a slippery customer.
Pink can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Berhardt controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Berhardt advances to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Berhardt trying to control the action but Pink is working from the bottom. Berhardt thumps the canvas. He must have been on the weights. Pink escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pink chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Berhardt can pounce on him.
Pink throws a lazy right hand but Berhardt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A countering left hand to the body from Berhardt misses. Berhardt swings for the body but Pink moves out of range.
Berhardt connects with a body shot that sends Pink's belly button to the back. Berhardt fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pink looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Berhardt lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pink at a distance.

Berhardt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pink looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pink can't do much from the bottom here. Berhardt landing a few strikes.
