Shepherd's coach down at Arvins Bootcamp was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shepherd's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Duncan throws a jab but it's blocked by Shepherd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Umaga defends it nicely.
Umaga has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Umaga slaps away a takedown attempt from Slaughter, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Umaga wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Slaughter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Picker gets in close and tags Johnson with a short punch that almost sends Johnson to the mat! Oh Johnson is in big trouble! He turns his back on Picker, trying to create some distance but Picker rushes him, striking wildly and Johnson goes down! The referee tackles Picker into the cage to end the fight! Picker is one violent man!
