The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myres dodges the punch combination from Madai.
Myres's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Myres duly obliges.

It looks like Andrej Madai has been cut.

Madai throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Myres tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Madai is in Myres's guard.

Myres scrambles and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Myres cracks Madai with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Myres has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Madai to stand back up!

Madai gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Myres gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Madai is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Venturo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've been told by Venturo's head coaches at Zen Balance Monastery that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Drawers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Venturo. That did some damage!
Drawers lands a really nice looking cross but Venturo seems unphased.

Smiff's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Smiff was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
