The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nazari gets caught napping as Mamba dives in and scores a takedown. Nazari manages to retain guard. Mamba looking to pass the guard. Nazari has Mamba pulled in close to control his posture. Nazari is trying to control the position but Mamba postures up. Mamba wants to stand but Nazari has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Nazari looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mamba postures up.
Mamba drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nazari manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mamba has Nazari in his guard. Mamba utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nazari scoring with punches to the head and body. Mamba can't keep his opponent in guard - Nazari advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Nazari is trying to control the action in half guard but Mamba is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nazari looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mamba is one step ahead there. We've been hearing good reports from Nazari 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ford wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ford swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
