1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Merlin Mykchur! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mass Hitta! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mykchur listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hitta throws a series of punches but Mykchur moves out of range. Mykchur is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hitta.
Mykchur gets a clinch. A left hand lands to the body for Mykchur.
Hitta wants to stall.
Hitta with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Mykchur tries to pull guard but Hitta forces him back to his feet, against the ropes. Mykchur tries to circle away but Hitta has him pinned against the ropes.
Hitta breaks from the clinch.
Mykchur throws a series of punches but Hitta avoids them all with ease. Hitta throws a jab when Mykchur was well out of range. Mykchur misses with a double jab.
Hitta was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Mykchur moves into range and clinches up with Hitta. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mykchur is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Mykchur tries to clinch but Hitta is having none of it. Mykchur comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Mykchur has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Navy Street MMA in the buildup to the fight. Hitta with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mykchur to score with a decent uppercut.
Mykchur closes the distance and pushes Hitta back into the ropes. A nice right hand lands inside from Mykchur. Hitta tries to stall but Mykchur uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mykchur is trying to break free. Hitta throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mykchur blocks it with crossed arms.
Hitta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mykchur bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Mykchur moves in looking to clinch but Hitta pushes him off. Mykchur lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hitta rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mykchur moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Some wild striking there from Hitta.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mykchur comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Mykchur showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hitta.
Hitta keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hitta swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Hitta gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hitta wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mykchur manages to pass to side control. Hitta looks winded!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitta tries to get to full guard but Mykchur has control of the leg. Mykchur throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Mykchur stops Hitta from getting back to his feet.
Hitta is refusing to be controlled, as Mykchur sits in half guard.
Mykchur stands up and beckons Hitta to join him on the feet.
Mykchur closes the distance and pushes Hitta back into the ropes.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mykchur tries to circle away but Hitta has him pinned against the ropes. Hitta is trying to break free.
Mykchur breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hitta throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Mykchur half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Mykchur tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hitta uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mykchur.
Mykchur scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mykchur is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hitta reverses the position - he's now on top in Mykchur's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hitta missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mykchur wants to sweep here but Hitta controlling him for the moment. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mykchur thuds a left hand into Hitta's body. Hitta swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hitta takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Hitta throws the kick towards the body but Mykchur avoids it. Mykchur dives in and grabs Hitta's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hitta pushes down on Mykchur's head and hops out.
Hitta rushes Mykchur and presses him up against the ropes. Hitta is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Mykchur to keep the fight standing. Mykchur tries to stall but Hitta uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mykchur tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hitta smiles and moves away.
Mykchur looks to score with a jab to the body but Hitta is just out of range. Both fighters circling a little - Hitta finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Merlin Mykchur is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mykchur uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hitta has time to react. Hitta closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mykchur circles away. Hitta throws a body shot but no joy. Hitta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Mykchur paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hitta keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Merlin Mykchur. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hitta goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Mykchur lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Mykchur darts in and clinches Hitta up against the ropes.
Hitta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nice sprawl there from Hitta as Mykchur shoots in. Mykchur tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hitta swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hitta throws a nice looking combination but Mykchur bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hitta circles away from the clinch attempt.
That kick from Hitta tenderised Mykchur's leg. Mykchur is trying to keep his angry face on. Mykchur tries to clinch but Hitta is having none of it. We've been informed that Hitta has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Hitta misses with a few strikes there.
Mykchur shoots in but Hitta avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hitta loads up on a big right hand but Mykchur slips the punch. A counter left hand to the body from Mykchur misses its target. Mykchur scores with a jab. Hitta acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Hitta looks to throw a body kick and Mykchur counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mykchur connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hitta momentarily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Merlin Mykchur will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

That's going to take a lot out of him. Hitta will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hitta throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mykchur tries to clinch but Hitta is having none of it. Mykchur lands a glancing blow to the side of Hitta's head. Mykchur is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hitta steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mykchur. Hitta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goodard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boxing defends it nicely. Boxing seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Boxing tries to bum rush Goodard with a series of wild strikes but Goodard uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Goodard wants to clinch up but Boxing keeps it at a distance. Boxing takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Goodard has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Nice sprawl there from Boxing as Goodard shoots in. Goodard fails to land the takedown. Coach Eddie Boxing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now.
