1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yi Ruogang! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ruogang. Powers seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Powers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ruogang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Powers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Powers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ruogang is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Powers keeping full guard, as Ruogang tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Powers escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ruogang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ruogang looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Powers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Powers is looking for a triangle but Ruogang pushes his legs off easily.
Ruogang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Powers swivels though and keeps the full guard. Powers seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Ruogang is still trying to improve position. Ruogang passes easily into side control. Nice work. A lull in the action here as Ruogang stalls from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ruogang scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Powers to see if he's OK. Ruogang scores with a couple of short elbows. Ruogang scoring with punches and elbows. Ruogang looks up at the clock and then as Powers takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ruogang smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Ruogang in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Powers looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Ruogang turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Date displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Punch. Punch shoots in but no luck this time. Date throws a nice head kick!

A kick lands to the mid section there for Date. Punch tries to score a power double leg takedown but Date sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Punch somewhat. Masamune Date has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Warlus Punch. Punch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Date avoids it really well and circles away. Date went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Date scores with a nice body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice cross by Date. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Punch is defended easily by Date. Date is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nice body kick from Date.

Date leaves Punch with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Punch dives in and grabs Date's left leg, looking for a takedown. Date pushes down on Punch's head and hops out. Punch shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Date as he jumps to the side. Date tries to clinch but Punch is having none of it. Punch dives in for a single leg takedown but Date sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Date lands with a thumping leg kick.

No luck for Punch with that takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Punch. Date is looking for a counter combo.

Punch crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Date - the referee stops the clock and Punch gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Date. Punch manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Date is looking to clinch. Warlus Punch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Date tries a head kick but it misses.

Date manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Punch is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Date pulls him back up using the underhooks. Date prevents a takedown attempt there.

Punch keeps the fight on the outside. Date throws a leg kick which misses Punch's front leg but catches the back leg as Punch tries to avoid it. Punch shoots in looking for a takedown but Date manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Punch's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Date appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Date tries to clinch but Punch is having none of it. Punch shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Date defends it nicely. Date connects with a high kick. Punch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Date enables Punch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Date manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Date wants to get back to his feet but Punch is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Date on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Date tries to get out of the position. Punch content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Punch postures up and lands a big shot to Date's brow. Date wants to stand and escape but Punch is having none of it. Punch keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Date's head. Date wants to stand but Punch is controlling the position. Punch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Punch lands a couple of elbows. Punch content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Date is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Punch is controlling him. Punch keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Date's head. Punch scoring with punches to the head and body. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Date is looking to stand up but Punch isn't so interested in that idea. Punch scores with a decent looking elbow strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Punch shoots for a double leg takedown but Date sprawls well. He's pushed Punch's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. It looked like Date was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Masamune Date has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Warlus Punch. Punch fails with a takedown attempt. Punch misses with a takedown attempt and Date counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Punch is breathing heavily.

We've been told by Date's head coaches at Cozad MMA Tokyo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Punch looks for a takedown but Date sprawls well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Punch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Dean. Those never looked like landing. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dux! But no joy. Nice defenses there by Dux. Dean misses with a wild body shot. Dux uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dean. Dean misses with a looping right. Dux uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dean. Dux blocks a jab. Dean looks to land a left hand but Dux moved out of range nicely. Dux misses with a double jab.
Dux has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dux there as he acknowledges the shot.
It looks like Jean Dux has been cut. Dux lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dean circles away quickly and effectively. As Dux looks to move away, Dean throws a big counter combo but Dux just gets out of the way. Dean dodges the punch combination from Dux.

Dean throws a lazy right hand but Dux sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Dux misses with a few strikes there.
Dean throws a right hand that Dux ducks under and follows up with a left that Dux also avoids with ease. This has been an exciting period of action! Danga de danga de dang - Dean scores with a four punch combination!
That's one minute gone in the round. Dean's corner calls for a 1-2. Dean obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looks like Ivan Shine has been cut. Shine gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The fight moves into the clinch position. With the fighters up against the cage, Shine throws an elbow but misses. A short right from Shine on the inside. Jones lands a hook that snaps the head of Shine backwards. Jones presses Shine against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A head punch on the inside from Shine fails to land. Jones lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Shine backwards. Jones lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Shine. A short right from Jones. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones lands a left hand.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hughes throws a hook but Dewey blocks it. Dewey blocks a jab. Hughes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Dewey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hughes throws out the jab. Hughes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dewey. Hughes drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dewey sprawls and moves away. Hughes walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dewey checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hughes keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hughes misses with a hook. Hughes lands the left hand. Nice sprawl there from Dewey as Hughes shoots in. A big left from Hughes misses. Hughes throws a right hand that Dewey ducks under and follows up with a left that Dewey also avoids with ease. Hughes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hughes loads up on a big right hand but Dewey slips the punch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A combination from Dewey does no damage. A right-left combo lands from Dewey. Hughes shoots in but Dewey avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dewey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dewey thows a left - swing and a miss! A nice inside leg kick there by Dewey. That's going to slow Hughes down. Dewey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dewey wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bronson Hughes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dewey staying out of range there. Dewey feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hughes's calf. Hughes fails to land the takedown. Dewey is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Dewey swinging wildly here.
Hughes throws a hook but Dewey avoids it easily. Dewey moves away from the strike by Hughes. William Dewey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dewey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hughes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dewey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hughes tries to bum rush Dewey with a series of wild strikes but Dewey uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dewey jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Dewey scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A combination from Dewey does no damage. Hughes is looking to counter the offense by Dewey and move into the clinch. Dewey feints a jab promting Hughes to slip. Dewey then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hughes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dewey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hughes moves away. Dewey lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dewey slips a straight right by Hughes. Hughes missing with a left hand there. Dewey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dewey tries to counter with a clinch but Hughes shakes him off and moves away. Hughes tests Dewey's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hughes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hughes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dewey scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Hughes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dewey.

Hughes is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Hughes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dewey. Hughes does a little dance to reset his feet. Hughes throws a series of punches but Dewey avoids them all with ease. Dewey misses with a wild body shot. Dewey throws a head kick that misses. Hughes tries to counter with a takedown but Dewey is quick to defend against it. Hughes moves out of range as Dewey strikes. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cadman tries to clinch there but Ipa circles away.
Cadman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ipa at a distance.
Danga de danga de dang - Cadman scores with a four punch combination! Ipa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cadman as he avoids it easily. Cadman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ipa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ipa tries for a takedown but Cadman circles away easily and Cadman moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ipa takes a shot to the head. Cadman lands an uppercut. Cadman stalling in the clinch.
Ipa is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cadman to keep the fight standing. Cayden Cadman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Jin Ipa. Ipa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ipa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ipa tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cadman 's legs. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Ipa in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Ipa misses with the ground and pound. Ipa tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Cadman wants to control but Ipa is having none of it. Ipa jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cadman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cadman and Ipa has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ipa tries to move to mount but Cadman blocks the move with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's got his arms around Cadman 's waist but Cadman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ipa off to one side. Ipa keeps the fight on the outside. And Ipa tries to counter it with a takedown but Cadman pushes his down on his head and steps out. Cadman lands with a thumping leg kick.

Nope, Cadman circles away and we're back to standing. As Ipa tries to get set, Cadman tries to push him back and clinch up but Ipa manages to avoid the attempt. Cadman tries to clinch up but Ipa circles away and keeps his distance. Cadman closes the distance but Ipa moves to the side and Ipa counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ipa.

Trouble for Cadman ! Jin Jin Ipa has got the better of the ground game so far. Ipa with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lin Shui! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Shui misses with a body shot.
Boom will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shui blocks a jab. Shui appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Boom fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shui on the side of the head. Shui looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Boom looking to control but Shui passes into half guard.
Boom wants to control the action here but instead Shui manages to pass to full mount! Shui controlling his opponent. Boom tries to hold on but Shui postures up. Shui controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Shui missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Shui thows a huge punch but Boom dodges it nicely.

Shui keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Boom tries to roll over but Shui keeps him under control. Shui frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Boom regains half guard. Shui has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Boom on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Boom has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shui is working away from the top position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shui is looking to take a break and control but Boom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Shui working the head and body with strikes.
