Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gamma Knox (ranked 9206 p4p, 251 weight class) and Maxim Popov (ranked 7674 p4p, 226 weight class). Knox comes into the arena with Naughty By Nature | Wickedest Man Alive blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gamma Knox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maxim Popov! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.

Knox was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Knox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Popov.
Knox moves out of range of the strikes. Good exchange - Knox coming out on top. Popov tries to clinch there but Knox circles away.
Knox throws a shot from downtown. Popov moves away and avoids it. Popov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Knox counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Knox moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Popov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Maxim Popov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big left from Popov misses. Knox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Popov moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Popov falls off balance throwing a combination
and Knox counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Knox misses the shot to the body. Popov throws a lazy uppercut
and Knox counters with a nice uppercut. Knox takes a shot right to the bread basket. Knox looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Popov throws a body shot but no joy.

Knox is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Popov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Knox comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Knox cracks Popov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Knox scores with a crisp jab that stopped Popov in his tracks. Knox throws a body punch but Popov moves out of range. Popov missing with a left hand there. Knox was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. It looked like Knox was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Popov. Popov avoids the body shot from Knox.

Popov blocks a body shot from Knox. Knox is working for takedown but Popov is calmly controlling the position for now. Knox is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Popov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Knox throws a poor cross that misses
and Popov counters with a stiff right hand. Popov throws a big shot that misses. Knox is looking for a counter combo. A punch lands to the side of Knox 's head but he takes it in his stride. Knox fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Popov manages to avoid it. Popov swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Popov throws a body punch but Knox moves out of range. Knox is looking to counter punch. Popov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A punch lands to the side of Knox 's head but he takes it in his stride. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gamma Knox will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Maxim Popov's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Popov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Knox has time to react. Popov connects with the punch. Popov scores with a shot to the body.

That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Popov lands a slapping body shot.
Knox looks to score with a jab to the body but Popov is just out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Popov. Knox looks to land a left hand but Popov moved out of range nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maxim Popov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Popov clobbers Knox with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Popov doesn't manage to clinch there - Knox circles away.

Jefferson tries to avoid it but Kidman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jefferson to the ground. Jefferson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kidman looks to land a combination but Jefferson avoids it well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fight stays on the outside here - Jefferson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kidman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jefferson counters with a left to the body.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Jefferson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kidman walks away with a smile on his face. Jefferson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jefferson tries to clinch up. Jefferson just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromKidman.

Jefferson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jefferson pulls Kidman in close to his closed guard and prevents Kidman from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kidman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jefferson is trying to control the position but Kidman postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kidman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jefferson keeps working. Jefferson tries to get to full guard but Kidman has control of the leg.

Blakemore tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Finger counters with a stiff right hand. Finger moves into range and connects with a jab. Finger fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Blakemore looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Finger misses with a wild body shot. Finger misses with a wild combination.
Martin Finger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Finger catches Blakemore with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Blakemore's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Finger connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Blakemore scrambles back to his feet. Finger scores with a hook. Finger has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Finger works Blakemore's body with a nice hook. Finger might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Finger lands with an overhand left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin Finger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Takeshi rushes Dirty and presses him up against the cage. Takeshi's coach down at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Takeshi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Takeshi is stalling here.
Takeshi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Takeshi is pushing Dirty up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Dirty throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Takeshi blocks it with crossed arms. Dirty managing to block the knees to the body from Takeshi.

Lo dips a shoulder and cracks Da Costa with a mighty uppercut! Da Costa falls back against the cage and Lo unloads with a barrage of strikes! Da Costa is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Lo screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Muslim definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Muslim lands a glancing blow to the side of Smathers's head. Smathers on the wrong end of a nice hook. Smathers tries for a takedown but Muslim circles away easily and Muslim counters with a stiff right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muslim wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Smathers walks straight into a right hand from Muslim - that's dropped him! Muslim jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Smathers from any more punishment! Smathers complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Power will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

And that's the end of the fight! Max Power comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Power has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
