The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joy lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Lidell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Joy lands with a nice body kick. Lidell on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Joy. Joy obviously looking to wear him down.
Joy avoids the head kick by Lidell.
Lidell misses with a kick to the body.
Joy keeps Lidell at a distance using the push kick. Lidell is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Joy lands a front kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Joy. That's going to slow Lidell down. Joy lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Joy throws a head kick that Lidell semi-blocks.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Joy! Lidell is out on his feet! Joy rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Lidell is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Lidell is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lebowski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lebowski! Bark is being controlled here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lebowski tries to move to mount but Bark blocks the move with his legs.

Hanzo is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Lynch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kato Hanzo. Well Lynch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Rodriguez wants to stand but Berto is controlling his posture from full guard.

Berto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rodriguez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rodriguez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rodriguez trying to control the position from guard on top but Berto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rodriguez postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Berto pulls Rodriguez in close to prevent any damage. Berto keeping moving, preventing Rodriguez from controlling successfully. Rodriguez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mies wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Donk. Mies catches Ray right on the button with a cross. Mies slips under a jab. Mies ducks under a wild hook from Ray. Mies clobbers Ray with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Ray walks straight into a right hand from Mies - that's dropped him! Mies jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ray from any more punishment! Ray complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
