Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Bumanov (ranked 7433 p4p, 646 weight class) and Ricardo Reis (ranked 8442 p4p, 685 weight class). Reis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Linda Martini - Gravidade. Ricardo Reis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reis gets caught napping as Bumanov dives in and scores a takedown. Reis manages to retain guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bumanov won't allow Reis to sweep him here.
Bumanov wants to control from the top but Reis keeps moving.
Bumanov is fighting to break Reis's control of his arms but Reis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Reis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bumanov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Reis.

Vidal has chosen Xutos e Pontapés - Quem é Quem as his entrance music. Rui Vidal will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Vidal leaves Know with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vidal throws out a counter right but Know avoids it with no problem.
Know is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

and Vidal counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vidal.

Know is trying to trip Vidal. He has hold of a leg but Vidal is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Know persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Vidal is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Know is controlling him.

Know drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vidal dives on top into guard.

Vidal walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Know drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Vidal swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Know's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Our winner, Rui Vidal, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

It looks like Vitaly Minakov has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Visigoth throws a right and a left that both miss.
Minakov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Minakov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Minakov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Visigoth tries to escape but Minakov is in control.
The referee asks Minakov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Minakov prefers to stall for the moment though.
