Soto shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bruce Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Soto was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.
No luck for Soto with that takedown attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powers gets caught flat footed, as Lawson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lawson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Powers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Powers wants to sweep but no luck.
Lawson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Powers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Powers is trying to control the position but Lawson postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lawson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Powers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Powers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lawson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lawson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Powers!

Lawson has control of Powers's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Powers regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Powers is looking to improve his position but Lawson isn't that keen on the idea.
